Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThis hotel is super old with tiny bathrooms. That means low ceilings, musty smells, no warming towel racks, no lift and all things antique and tiny. Not bad things, just not a good fit for us with allergies. Also, very, very dimly lit at night, needed cell phone flashlights to get in and we have always been in before 10pm
The hotel room was super super clean! I loved that.

IndiaThe man handling the property appears to be a rude frustrated guy. We didnt find him welcoming at all and he was rude.
Old heritage hotel and very well maintained. The vibe at the hotel is nice and the rooms are cozy. Next to the church so the bells ring every 15 minutes but we did not have a problem with that. It had a good vibe.

SwitzerlandIn our room the inclined roof made it a bit difficult for us to fit in the shower/bathtub. Also, there is a nearby church, the bell sound of which we did not notice throughout the evening, but that can be a nuisance for some people.
The hotel was very well located, 5 minutes away from the train station connecting the rest of the cities in the area, as well as to Schynigge Platte. The possibility of leaving the car in the hotel was great for us, and inexpensive compared to public parkings. The room was very clean and well sized.

IranNot able to reach staff later in the day, we had some questions about checking out and availability to have breakfast early, but was not able to find anyone, and no way to reach someone. Lack of AC.
Location is amazing if you are exploring the jungfraujoch region. Its a quick 5 minute walk to the train station, and another 5ish minutes to Interlaken. You are also able to catch the train the other direction to Lauterbrunnen or Grindelwald. The room is on the smaller side, and is a little dated, but the bed was comfortable at least. The breakfast was ok, which was mainly breads, sliced cheeses, and cold cuts of meat. Cereal and yogurt are available as well as some fruit. The wifi (free) worked well and was stable throughout the visit (100+mbps). The shower was in the tub, and you are not able to stand up while showering. No elevator on site, so expect to carry your luggage up the steps. Be aware there is NO AC in the rooms. We visited in July which luckily the temps were not too bad, but after leaving for the day and coming back the room was definitely hot and stuffy. We opened the window and the doors to our balcony, and while it quickly cooled our room down, it also let it lots of spiders, which quickly put an end to having our door open. We did sleep with our window open every night, which seemed to not let in spiders, and was amazing listening to the river rushing by.

FranceVery old hotel with minimal to no service and outdated furniture. Ridiculously high and totally out of proportion price.
Excellent and well furnished breakfast in a nice, traditional setting. We liked the location in a little village close to a nice church and a historic, wooden bridge.

United StatesThe location was absolutely perfect. We were right next to the river and an old historic church and cemetery, which, we were delighted to discover, was the final resting place for the daughters of two musicians I studied as a pianist - Mendelssohn and Schumann. We were also just a very short walk from the train station, bus stops, grocery stores, and the historic train to Schnydige Platte. The town itself was small and peaceful and did not feel overrun by tourists, which was a huge plus in our minds.

United Arab EmiratesIt’s a bit nitpicky but it could get really warm during summer. Maybe a fan in the room could help. We left the balcony door open to let air in but it also lets small insects inside and some people may not feel so secure with an open door. But again, it really did not impact our stay that much. Just something that I think could be improved.
The location and the vibe. Very cozy and serene. My toddler loved the place. People complain about the church bella next door but we barely heard it. The sound of the rushing river is so relaxing.

United KingdomThe hotel had a lot of rules around what we can and can't do with use of the kettle, how best to shower, which I understand given the historic nature of the hotel and the risk of damage but the hotel owner was a little rude when trying to explain this to us.
Great location, very close to key attractions in the Interlaken region and the surrounding areas. The breakfast was lovely and have a good variety of options. Rooms were spacious with a clean well equipped bathroom.
