Amazing place to stay in Wengen. I’m still amazed that Thomas and Sarah actually took the time to learn every guest’s name and chat to them, extending invitations to dinner and BBQs and sharing local events, but also striking the perfect balance of not feeling overly intrusive. They are so accommodating: I arrived early and was immediately told where to put my bags and when to come back, and given extensive tips by both Sarah and Thomas on what to do and why. The exterior looks old and a little kitschy, in a charmingly old-school way, but inside is modern and very clean/well-maintained. Yes, the rooms are basic (at least mine was) but they are exactly as described/pictured, and clean, comfortable, and cozy. I also expected a “garden view” or “city view” and instead ended up with an incredible view over the Lauterbrunnen Valley and the Jungfrau. The single best view I think I've ever had from a hotel and the most incredible place. I could have sat on that balcony for days! Breakfast was tasty and varied/substantial, and while I didn’t have dinner it sounded nice and the Thursday BBQ smelt good when I got home.

This was a gorgeous, typically Swiss hotel. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. Breakfasts and dinners were nice, especially the outdoor barbecue evening. The room was compact, spotless and had everything we needed. We enjoyed the private balcony. Having a lift to take up luggage was a bonus.

We had 3 people in our party and Booking.com said needed two rooms. When we got there we got a room with 4 beds and a room with a single bed. We could not cancel that room with one bed. Also the dinner was not great. Not at all gourmet to be honest. Breakfast on the other hand was great.

The downhill road that leads to the hotel can be tricky if you have lots of luggage and kids and strollers to carry!

Service, service and service The staff at Edelweiss is commendable. We were traveling with 2 toddler kids and the staff did everything in their power to make us feel at home and to accommodate any request we had. Food was amazing. We stayed there 3 nights, and had dinner at the hotel. We are vegetarians and had special requests for kids meal which the chef was more than happy to accommodate to. Rooms are small but beds are comfortable. Location is amazing with a view of snow covered mountains from windows.

everything!!! Location was perfect, in a quiet little town, we had perfect view of the lauterbrunnen falls, I loved how peaceful wengen was. The hospitality of hotel edelweiss is top notch, we were greeted by Thomas and he remembered every guests name, made sure everyone had a solid itinerary plan and all their needs being addressed. The breakfast was very delicious too, I looked forward to eating it. The facility had so many thoughtful little things (a candy plate, hot and cold drinks for guests, sauna, etc). Highly recommend and would love to stay again in the future!

The transportation to the location is inconvenient for the tourists without car and also with a big luggage.

As an asian, Swiss breakfast is quite unfamiliar and that makes me hard to giving a rate. only could say : the food is fresh!

Everything was great!

The property was in an amazing location with beautiful views. The best part of the stay was the hospitality offered. We were greeted with a wine and cheese tasting in the garden, delicious breakfast was included with our stay, the staff did our laundry for us in the same day for a reasonable price, and they offered to help us make reservations when the onsite restaurant was closed for a night. Most importantly though, Tomas at reception really made our stay, essentially planning our itinerary for us, giving us tips for how to maximize our time in Wengen/the Jungfrau region. We completely followed all of his recommendations and were so glad we did. Would highly recommend a stay at Hotel Edelweiss to anyone visiting the Jungfrau region. Our trip truly would not have been the same had we stayed anywhere else.

That I couldn't stay longer!!!

I loved my stay at the Hotel Edelweiss. Everything was exceptional and revolved around giving hotel guests the best possible experience. What a personal hotel (this is rare) Tomas, Sarah, Randa and the other lovely lady who worked in the dining room ( apologies never got your name) were friendly, chatty and nothing was too much trouble. Mattias, the chef, presented us with a gorgeous 4 course meal ( I ate in the hotel on 3 of my 5 nights) I booked a room with a balcony which had a great view of the Jungfrau. If you have children the hotel is perfectly situated beside a playground and of course the hotel bunnies (about 8 of them I think) are a major attraction!!! I was sad to leave but will definitely be back....already looking at dates for next summer! The hotel is only a five minute walk from Wengen village and the train station. 10 out 10 from me!!!!

Frankly, there was nothing I didn't like.

I didn't feel like I was treated as a hotel client. I was treated like a houseguest visiting a warm, welcoming family. The staff are genuinely friendly. So far beats any other hotel I stayed at. The chef went above and beyond our expectations. He shared exceptional care, and the food was excellent. I would definitely recommend and for sure visit again.

The staff are great, really kind. They greeted me by name on arrival and showed me the facilities. You can help yourself to tea/coffee in the lounge downstairs and you can book a time slot for the sauna which is clean and private. Room was cosy, clean and fine for what you need after a day hiking.

Loved everything.

My husband, son, daughter in law, granddaughter and I stayed here 3 nights. Everything was wonderful. Staff was exceptional (especially Tomas, who helped us reserve paragliding and all his advice on things to do!) from the booking to check in to check out and all times in between. Breakfast buffet was great, and the "backyard barbecue" dinner was super. They have a hutch with a mother rabbit and her 6? 8? many babies that our granddaughter loved playing with. We loved Wengen and the Hotel Eidelweiss and would stay again in a heartbeat.

The location was perfect.. right in middle of B-O area - 5min to train station... we explored all around the Jungfrau region from this Wengen base.. The staff was amazing... They were always present during our breakfast and dinner, and made sure everything was taken care of and made us feel like a family. We did all our dinner meal at the hotel, and variety of different menu every night was delicious.. Food was top notch.. Dinner was farm to table ingredients, and incredibly fresh. I would like to thank Daniel and Thomas and the rest of the staff for amazing hospitality, they went above and beyond for making us feel welcome and treated us like part of a family.. As a side note, Daniel is the hotel owner and is apparent, he went into hotel business to serve people.. he has a philosophy of reserving one room empty for missionaries who may not afford to come to Swizerland.. - I was blessed to meet him..and will definately return..

Fabulous hotel! The staff are just the best. Nothing was too much trouble! Breakfasts were good. Loved the free tea & coffee supplies in the lounge & the biscuits & sweets were an added bonus. We had dinner there on the 1st night & it was delicious & good value. The view over the mtn was spectacular (when the clouds cleared)

Our recent stay at Hotel Edelweiss in Wengen was nothing short of perfect. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Tomas, who truly made our stay exceptional. Tomas is incredibly personable, remembering not only every guest's name but also details from past conversations with all the guests. His genuine care for his job and the guests is evident, providing the best service I have ever experienced at any hotel. The culinary experience at Hotel Edelweiss was outstanding. Mattias, the chef, delighted us with his tasty and creative dishes, all prepared with incredibly fresh farm-to-table ingredients. Every meal was a feast for the senses, and we looked forward to each dining experience. The views from the hotel were breathtaking, with everything centrally located, making it easy to explore the stunning surroundings. A highlight of our trip was proposing to my partner at Männlichen on the royal walk, a moment made even more special thanks to Tomas, who kindly provided us with ponchos. In summary, our stay at Hotel Edelweiss was memorable in every way. The impeccable service, outstanding food, and stunning location made it a trip we will cherish forever.
