Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaBeautiful historic hotel, friendly owner. Very clean and quiet. Off the beaten path, must be willing to walk at least 1.5 km to the little village for other food/entertainment.

We had an unforgettable vacation! This historic hotel impressed with its wonderful and cozy interior and the warm welcome and sincere care of the hosts. It is radically different from the usual hotels that you forget after a week. I think we will not forget Du Pillon and his exceptional spirit for the rest of our lives!

United StatesThe owners of this place really make it shine, both friendly and personable. It kind of felt like showing up at your aunts house in the country. The hotel is a beautiful historic hotel in the heart of the Les Diablerets region.

RomaniaThis is one of the best accommodation experiences we have stayed ever, even though we have many to choose from. The renovated historic hotel feels also like a swiss home nestled in the mountains. An old fashioned appeal but with all the necessary modern amenities and facilities. Everything was perfect: the view of the mountains (what a wonderful view towards Les Diablerets from the balconies!), the breakfast was amazing, the quite heavenly location above the village in short distance surrounded by mountains is perfect, the room was clean and spacious. But the best experience was the owner, Mr. Francis, together with his wife: welcoming, friendly and helpful. Thank you for everything, we can’t wait to come back as soon as possible

IndiaThis is one of the best properties we have stayed in. Francis, the owner and manager personally attended to everyone of our needs. Even though it's a hotel, it feels like your home in the mountains with all the amenities of a modern hotel. If staying in this area, would highly recommend for the personalized care, gorgeous mountain views and serene local setting

GermanyThe only aspect is the creaking floor boards - more from the perspective it could annoy fellow guests, in rooms below than impacting us ourselves.
Everything worked sufficiently as planned and expected. Though named a "hotel" it was more like guests hosted in a holiday home. The Swiss charm envelopes the property, very comfortable for what it is. Thank you to the property owners, much appreciate your efforts in keeping it up in its current form, considering its long history.

AustraliaThe location was very pleasant in the countryside. The property was homely and not like a 'Hotel' which was lovely and whilst there wasn't a restaurant as Hotels offer, there was a menu to choose from for meals if you didn't want to drive into town. The meals were lovely home cooked meals and much more convenient than going out to eat.

SwitzerlandOur stay was only for 2 night.
It is easy to find by google maps, parking just in front of the hotel. Francis and his wife are great hosts, very welcoming, trying to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Rooms are simple, but you have everything you need + nice declaration. Amazing view from the balcony and the terrace. No doubt, we will be back again.

We had an incredible experience during our stay here, thanks to the exceptional hospitality of Mr. Francis. He went above and beyond to accommodate our needs, making our visit to Glacier 3000 truly memorable. The location is stunning, but Mr. Francis truly made our stay exceptional. We're grateful for his outstanding service.

SwitzerlandThis is a unique historic hotel with character and charm in design and atmosphere, a lovely collection of artwork and photographs throughout, a warm welcome and reception room with a fireplace and armchairs and comfortable spacious rooms with plenty of light. I have not stayed in any other place quite like it that achieves old fashioned appeal without feeling either stuffy or worn down. The hotel is perched above the town with a beautiful view; We had the good luck to wake up after a fresh snowfall and the whole valley was sparkling. The owner is kind and also interesting. Overall a memorable stay.
