Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

DenmarkBreakfast was lacking in selection. We had to go across the street to another hotel for a breakfast buffet with scrambled eggs, sausages and bacon. It was even cheaper as both our children ate complimentary. Room had a faulty towel rack heater that could only be at full heat which made it so that the bathroom was unbearably hot.
Shower was really nice. Staff was pleasant and accommodating.

NetherlandsCheck in process was a bit complicated. Hotel City Inn has no reception and they use Hotel Euler's reception. There is also no entrance and we had to go through Hotel Euler and maze of hallways. There was also no elevator for floor 2 and 3 and we had to carry our bags on stairs. Worst was the air conditioner. It was extremely loud and didn't even cool much. We changed our room but the other room was basically the same.
Room and bathroom were clean and nicely maintained. Location is awesome, just outside Basel main station. The staff were always nice and helpful.

SwitzerlandThe staff advertised the room as 'small' and proposed a different, more expensive option at check in. However, they did not mention the room was also in a poorly ventilated and extremely hot attic. AC was almost inevitable for comfort at night (I visited Basel on a relatively cold June!) - but the air conditioner was extremely loud, so I ended up sleeping with open windows and woke up several times to different noises (traffic, people).
Unbeatable location, 1 minute walk from the station and very close to the historical centre and lively restaurant area. Simple check-in and check-out.

PolandI should admit I felt disrespected and offended by the russian receptionist lady. When she found out that I was originally from Ukraine, she offered me that, now I quote “I can speak russian. As you’re Ukrainian, you should understand russian” end of quote… I am honestly shocked! Should I really explain to someone in 2024 that there exists Ukrainian nation and Ukrainian language?! And that all happening while my family in Ukraine is every day bombed by russians! I really suggest that you should organise some history classes for that receptionist russian lady so she learns about all crimes / genocide russia committed against my People and please have more respect for every language.
The hotel is located in a good place just near the train station and the Old Town. The breakfasts are nice (please consider also offering omelet :). The room was clean and comfortable. I really loved to feel history of the building as it’s an older property.

It was a clean room and quiet enough. There was noise from outside (ground floor) due to the businesses nearby but not bothersome if you close the window. Coffee/tea outside on each floor.

GermanyThe check in system was a bit confusing. The Hotel Euler does reception for three hotels. It would be convenient to include that on the booking page or in the messages before arrival. The stairs are also steep and the elevator only services a few rooms in the Inn.
