Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwitzerlandNothing.
It is a modest hotel at a beautiful location, with a nice and welcoming atmosphere, good breakfast and a very nice place to have a drink in the evening. Owners are super friendly and make you feel right at home. The rooms are decorated very nicely as well.

United StatesKai and Alexandra are great hosts and did a great job keeping the atmosphere nice and cozy. It’s not a luxury hotel, but it was exactly what I was looking for during my bike adventure. It’s close to the ski resorts, trails and road bike galore.

SwitzerlandThe rooms are small and no free toiletries are provided - but this is fully in line with the description, so no complaints! What could be better is an Internet connection on our floor, which was stable but slow.
This property is mostly used by the people on their way through St. Gotthard. Excellent location also for those like us, who visit the region, with literally 3 minutes walk to the railway station and plentiful excellent hiking opportunities around. Very welcoming and helpful hosts. The hotel is not refurbished and simple, but everything works and is really sufficient for a short stay. The restaurant follows the general suite, with a small selection of basic dishes - but they are really tasty and we enjoyed our dinner a lot. Excellent breakfast, well better than in the majority of the Swiss hotels of a similar price category. Overall, we recommend the place and will be happy to come again

United KingdomThe owners were extremely friendly and helpful. They pointed us in the direction of a beautiful walk at Goscheneralp which was the highlight of our trip over Gotthardpass. We enjoyed our brief overnight stay and would hope to return to this quiet village off the main tourist route. The hotel is simple but spotlessly clean and provided all we needed.

DenmarkWe came to Hotel Krone, where we have never been before, after a long day of travelling on motorrads through beautiful Schweizerland. Just a random booking with random expectations like we use to do on Booking.com. However there is nothing random about this sweetspot in scenic Göschenen. From the minute we parked our bikes on the private parkingplace, we were heartly welcoming by Alexandra. Together with her co-owner Kai, they both set a scene of yet unseen hosting presence. At dinner we enjoyed our very delicious meal together with other travellers. New friendship were made that night via social dinner, orchstred by Kai. The place has a skiing atmosphere, the rooms are clean, the bathrooms are new. This place gets 5 stars from us: 1 star for Alexandra 1 star for Kai 1 star for the food 1 star for facilities 1 star for the atmosphere Se you soon lovely Alexandra & Kai //Lars and Henrik, Denmark

United KingdomThe hotel is very easy to reach by train and the connection to Andermatt is perfect. Despite this, the location is quiet. The atmosphere the owners create made us feel relaxed the moment we stepped through the door. It's not luxury, but all the comfort and warmth we could hope for. We'll certainly be back.

HungaryThe hotel is very very old fashioned but it was clean, the owner was extremely kind and helpful. The breakfast was enough, with enough selection. It's in the central but it was quiet during the night. The parking is next to the house, enough places for big cars also. The walking route with dogs starts 50 meters from the house. Perfect stay for one night and good value for the money compared to the extremely expensive Andermatt.
