the rooms were..less than what one would consider a 5.3 rating. it was significantly less everything with no air conditioning despite having those 80s style ac vents. they did not work

the receptionist was kind hearted, lobby was surprisingly fancy. letting in cold air was refreshing without insects waking you up unable to move

It is an old Hotel. Lots of character but don't expect an in room fridge or an icemaker down the hall. The parking garage is an adventure ;-)

The location (overlooking the river 200 yards from the Interlaken West Train/Bus stations) was perfect. As a base for exploration of the Berner Oberlander it was ideal. The Front Desk, Management, breakfast and cleaning staff were exceptional. We could sit on our balcony and watch the hangliders fly over the valley.

No fridge, no kettle to make a basic cup of tea. Bed was uncomfortable, facilities were just adequate, I would not consider this good value for money compared to other countries but the same could be said for all of Switzerland - it is expensive.

Location was excellent. Good breakfast, nice lounge downstairs. Nice view from the room.

There was no one at reception for at least 15 minutes. Many people wanting to check inor out. Was a grand building in its time but very “tired” now. A shame - they have some wonderful spaces that could be better used.

It was a bit outdated and not the most clean hotel I’ve stayed. It was quite expensive for what it was, but it is Switzerland so everything is that way,

Excellent location, 2 minute walk to Interlaken West. And walkable to sights, restaurants and shopping. Breakfast included was also very nice. The front desk staff was truly amazing she was courteous, helpful and very kind.

The location was excellent. The hotel seemed short staffed especially at check-in and during breakfast. The room was clean and decent size with a wonderful balcony with a fabulous view of the river and mountains. This was the best part of the stay. The room furniture was very worn and old. Updating should occur with the furnishings.

Hotel is a little tired & dated. Rooms ( while fine) could b better - the electricity was questionable ( required a very different electric adaptor to what we had seen & we also had a ( short) blackout. Bed linen was satisfactory tho some did have holes in them.

Breakfast was fine though we were perplexed with the times - ie it was unclear when bfast started (& it varied from printed times.) Bfast was OK- tho had less options compared to other hotels. Location was really great & we loved having a room with a view. The staff were lovely - especially the daily service room people.

The definite bonus of this place is the location. Walk to everything in this beautiful city or use as a central place to stay while heading out for the day to Grindelwald and Lauterbrunnen, all a short drive away. The staff were friendly and parking was a bonus for a small fee.

Breakfast wasn't great and shower was in a bad condition. We expected a bit more for the price, but the staff made up for poor facilities.

A bit noisy with windows open due to train station being very close.

The location of property is very close to Interlaken west train station, the view from room is amazing of the river, Everything is in walking distance. They provide you with guest card which you can use to travel free around the area and to get discount on some attractions. After check-out they even accommodate you for luggage storage for couple of hours. The staff was quite friendly and greeted very nicely.

I don't know if there was internet as no information. No kettle in room to make a hot drink Mattress too soft and creaking bed Not all TV channels work especially English

If you wanted cooked eg eggs had to cook yourself and not possible as only one pan and area busy

Dead bugs on the wall. The room was cleaned before I checked out and some of the change left on the table was taken. We used the room before we checked out - I fear they did not clean it again for their next guests! It’s overpriced: breakfast area was dodgy. I couldn’t bring myself to eat bread touched by all the guests. The bathroom .. the shower looked unhygienic.
