Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SlovakiaOur stay was too short.
Our visit to Guarda, along with our stay, truly took our breath away. The village is impeccably preserved and restored, showcasing magnificent architecture and a unique atmosphere that transports you back in time. The Meisser staff excels in hospitality, making our experience even more memorable. Though our room was of smaller size, it was cozy, with a very comfy bed, and offered us a stunning view of the Swiss National Park. Our stay was perfectly complemented by a tasty breakfast, made from local products served in a tastefully furnished breakfast room. Location of Guarda offers plentiful options for more or less demanding hikes and walks in nature. The tranquility of Guarda, nestled in the heart of nature, is its greatest asset. This is a must-visit destination for lovers of history, art, architecture, and nature alike.

United StatesThe room was a little small, but we reserved the cheapest room, so it was expected.
Guarda is an incredible place. The breakfast was perfect for us. The MR met all our basic needs.

Netherlandsparking. there is free parking available, but the way into the parking lot is very tricky as it's down a tight alleyway. It took me a good few minutes trying to figure out how to get in , but hey, it's free !
I didn't know what to expect as I booked it since it was the nearest location for a wedding, but upon arrival I was so charmed by the little village and the Meisser complex. the hotel is composed by several buildings. the building i stayed was for adults only, so it was very quiet and relaxed. the self-service breakfast spread was a small selection of local produce that was delicious. the breads were amazing. my room was spacious considering the comfy king sized mattress. take note of the low ceiling which is part of its quirk. water pressure was amazing in the shower. a coffee machine and a selection of teas is available throughout the day. I would rebook in the future.

SwitzerlandNavigating the tiny streets with a car was a bit challenging and parking isn't well signed. Our room was super tiny and rustic. Maybe that counts as romantic. Bed was too soft for me but my gf loved it.
Guarda is an amazingly cute town! The dinner menu is awesome and breakfast selection is great. I'm not a big fan of cooking my eggs my own but that's ok. The inhouse spa is cozy and we had it all for us alone. Make sure to reserve at least a day in advance, we didn't know that and couldn't use it on our day of arrival.

United StatesWe ate dinner in the hotel’s restaurant, it was very expensive and not very good for how much we paid. The service was excellent, the setting was beautiful, the food fell very short. There isn’t much for choices for dinner in that area. Make your plans for dining elsewhere.
The location is great for a get away from everything. It is quite remote. So there is a calm feeling to this town. We stayed in the “romantica” part, which is essentially another house down the road with a few units in it. They had a self serve continental breakfast in a shared kitchen. You could cook your own eggs. There was a lot available for breakfast. The staff was pleasant.

SwitzerlandSound proof system of the rooms in Romantica. We heard next room using toilet very clearly.
It’s a part of Swiss historical hotel with over 200 years of history. The small village Guarda has about 100 people population. And the hotel developed lodge, romantica and the fancy hotel suits spreading over the village. The village is very charming and well preserved with Swiss Romansh culture. There is a very professional and well developed hotel team. The restaurants are very tasteful, and you can also go to another one with ‘ a la carte’ choice. The terrace has a great view and is very inviting. We liked very much the self catering breakfast in the Romantica part. All is from local supply: yogurt, dairy, cheese, freshly baked bread, eggs… The staff dress in the old Swiss way which adds to the charm. A lot of details are thought. I am in Genius level 2 in Booking and I think this is one of the best hotel experiences I have had in Switzerland.

United StatesThe room we paid $269 for could be rented anywhere else for less than half the price. It was small, but totally adequate and typical of the region. But we reserved a room with a “ south view overlooking the garden terrace.” Instead, we got a room overlooking the street, with all the street noise, roof tops and a weed patch ( see pics). When I first complained to reception, I was told she didn’t have time to talk to me. But another lady did. When I voiced my complaint and showed her my reservation confirmation, she said they didn’t even have a garden terrace and asked “what is garden terrace?”. She offered me no satisfaction at all and seemed to be insulted that I raised the issue. I am a seasoned traveler in Europe and I know what to expect in terms of room size, appointments, food, breakfast etc. But in Switzerland, it is all about the view. We chose this place because of its high location. Instead we got the view in the pics. I am not suspicious, but at check in,she kept saying “ you are American ?” I think I got stuck with the worst room in the house. The pics show the view from the room, overlooking a weed patch, the street and a roof. Compare this to the pic on their website of this room…no comparison. I consider this fraudulent. I would not stay here again and I don’t recommend like-minded Americans to do the same. BTW, when I was checking out, the girl told me they changed the description on the website to reflect that it only faces south, but no view of the phantom garden terrace. I consider this a tourist rip off, just my opinion based on my experience.
The location was excellent, once we found it.

Switzerlandwellness area was mean joke - there are two cabins “as sauna” for 2 people but you feel there like in cleaning supply closet, the entire area is literally naked concrete walls with some white oil paint, feels freaky like some industrial area. whirlpool stinks so badly of chlorine that we didn’t try it.
great approach to breakfast (it’s a kitchen where you can make yourself what you want)

SwitzerlandI find the room very expensive for its value. The room is very small and the only good thing was the comfortable bed. The bathroom smelled and it needs renovation. There is not sign or description outside the hotel and the reception is a couple of minutes away in another building, so it is confusing if it's your first time there.
The main floor was very nice to have a cup of tea. It seemed very cozy and well equipped. Also, the breakfast was good. However, there are no vegan options. There is also a self-service fridge with several drinks, which was good. The hotel is next to the bus station.
