Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

ItalyThe room was very noisy, and I am not talking about external noises but internal: noises from other rooms, every time a person passes in to the hallway to go to his room is like to have him inside the room, and during the night especially is not the best thing to desire. The power sockets and light switches are positioned haphazardly.
Perfect position if you want to attend the Basel messe, the staff was super kind and the breakfast good but not much offer. Bed and pillow were pretty comfortable and room service has been very discrete.

AustraliaEverything is clearly v expensive. We have never paid (in Au$ currency) over $100 for 2 schnitzels. Or $240 for a load of washing! But it’s only money. Really what was important was the experience and our time in Basel was brilliant, we will be back.
Ronan & Chokri (the staff) provided a wonderful breakfast and were exceptionally helpful eg managing to find someone to do a load of washing for us so we could focus on being a tourist and exploring Basel via its excellent public transport system.

Very convenient location close to the Messeplatz. Rooms are small but adequate.

Very nice location, close to the main tram lines. Very walkable. A lot of bars and restaurants nearby/next door. Nice to have to city card to take public transportation. Coop market right around the corner. Pro tip: buy sandwiches or salads from Coop for lunches to save on meal costs. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Very small room, but really comfy. There was a fan provided in the room. Breakfast available but we didn’t purchase it.

Great boutique hotel in an excellent location and area of Basel. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. My room was on the small side (though it did have a balcony which is definitely worth asking for) but very clean and well-equipped. Overall highly recommended place to stay.
