Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThere is nothing we did not like, but bear in mind that it is an old swiss chalet with all its charm but also creaking floors and a very nice bathroom shared between two rooms.
We had a wonderful stay at Gassa 95. Our hosts were extremely welcoming and friendly and went out of their way to make our experience special. The building is the oldest in the village and more than 500 years old but has been well renovated to produce comfortable rooms in an rustic alpine setting. The food was delicious and plentiful. The breakfast was excellent with a selection of local cheese, dried swiss meat, smoked ham and homemade bread as well as delicious homemade jam. It is located in the middle of the village and with easy access to the bath or the ski fields although we did not ski (but the baths, while expensive are definitely a very special experience).

New ZealandThe provided shower gel was a tiny bottle and not very ecological ... a reusable, larger container would be better. Breakfast was only available until 9:30 which doesn't allow sleeping in :-) but the breakfast is well worth getting up for!
The B&B Gassa is a beautifully restored 500 year old house. It is very central, super clean and the food cooked by Albin is exceptional. Albin (the owner of the house) is very friendly and knowledgable about the area. The rooms are comfy, ours was with an ensuite and had a beautiful view towards the mountains.

CanadaIt is so charming that the house is 500 years old, owned by the original family. The owner is extremely hard working, and it really shows. This was a very last minute booking (booked minutes before check in) and everything was clean and prepared for us already. Thank you for the wonderful stay!

DenmarkThe ceiling height of the rooms is only about 190cm and doors around 180cm so if you are tall this may be an issue for you. The bathroom is shared however we thought it was going to be in our room. In saying that it was exceptionally clean and we never had to wait to use it.
Excellent attentive host Corsin was accessible and helpful at all times. Nice, cosy rooms in incredibly beautiful town. You get discount to the Therme Vals if booking with Corsin. Wonderful location if you have kids as there is an amazing playground 50m away. We had a very nice dinner and breakfast made by our host

SwitzerlandOur bedroom was a little cool at night, but ideal for sleeping. Tall people need to watch their heads as the ceilings are quite low (after all the house is 500 years old). These are not complaints, more observations.
A very friendly and helpful host. Simple but comfortable accommodation in the heart of the village. Extremely quiet. Local produce for breakfast and home cooked evening meals to a good standard.

SwitzerlandAll perfect.
Beautiful 500 years old very nicely renovated house. Very charming and clean. A home, away from home. The owner, Corsin, is fabulous, his food absolutely fantastic. Breakfast is plenty, regional products and homemade fresh bread every morning. He gave me very good tips of what to do and checked, if busses were available and when, booked the Therme for me and even got up early to prepare and serve my breakfast on a day of an early hike. Have been back already once and just booked another weekend, this time bringing a friend.

SwitzerlandIt was advertised with a shared bathroom on the floor with shower soap. We were asked to use an open mass shower in the cellar and there was no soap. As there was no door to lock, and someone even walked in on my wife whilst she was drying off from a shower! There was not any soap nor hand towel by the bedroom sink in our room. The host seems rather indifferent and overly stressed. Sorry to say, but that was not my problem nor what I paid for.
Dinner was good. The beds were very comfortable.
