Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Switzerland2 small beds. Even if I am alone, one big bed is better. Then, if coming with wife, 2 beds are not appropriate.

NorwayIf you are taller than about 1.80 m, the beds in our room were somewhat short. One of us liked the firm matress, the other thought it was hard... If you are not in reasonably good shape or have bulky, heavy baggage, getting to the top floor can be a challenge.
Old house with good atmosphere, central location at a little plaza with a fountain with very nice mineral water. Clean studio, well equipped. Welcoming host, small family hotel. The breakfast was good, with some local products.

SwitzerlandNote: the "two-bedroom apartment" had only one bedroom and the second pair of beds were in the living room.
A nice apartment in a beautiful house in a historical area of Scuol yet super close to the shopping street and spa.

SamoaThe Toilet was separated from the room and shared with one another room, but it was big and well-organized. so people may not prefer shared toilet. The wardrobes and closets were old. So, we couldn't use them. You need also to give the time when you want to take the breakfast, because there are not enough space for all guests to take the breakfast at the same time.
The space of the room was good and appropriate for 3 persons. The modern kitchen was inside the room, and it was a well cleaned and organized equipped with kitchen utensils. The toilet was shared only with one room, however, it was a big bathroom and toilet, well-cleaned and organized. The breakfast was very good with different options of hot drinks, jams, honey, cheese, snacks, breads. The location is 15 minutes walk from the train station, however, you can take the bus from the train station, then walk for 3 minutes to reach the hotel, which is located in old town of Scuol. Our room did 't have a direct view to the mountain or balcony, but we were able to see the mountain when we go outside the hotel. The staff are kind, good and welcome the guests.

Switzerland"Twin beds" are two duvets on a large double bed. Typical in Switzerland and OK for us, but might bother others.
Typical Engadin building - nice wooden interior and traditional decoration. Well located too - quiet backstreet, but very close to the main Scuol resort area. Hosts were great, and plenty of food available for breakfast.

SwitzerlandThe room is incredibly small, smaller than most with the "shared toilet / shower" accommodation. Wifi was pretty awful / unusable in the small single room I got, but I think it's better in the rest of the property (it worked fine in the breakfast room). The shared toilet / shower is very cramped, and takes some careful balance / steps to get into the shower or to merely turn around to use / leave the bathroom. The windows are single-pane, and as the single room was on the ground floor next to the street, you hear EVERY car (and sometimes horse / drunk people) that pass by. Thankfully the Swiss folks really respect the "after 10pm you'd better be quiet!" rule, so it wasn't a big deal, but those light sleepers might want to bring earplugs.
The single rooms are an incredible value for the money, probably the best you can get in Scuol. If you want to stay in the area to go on a bunch of hikes and stuff and just need a place to sleep at the end of the day without breaking the bank, this is the place for you.

SwitzerlandThe main bedroom was tiny and difficult to squeeze past the bed.
The apartment was good and gave us a convenient accommodation in Scuol before heading off to the mountains. The value for money was very good. It's a decent, pleasant place in a nice old house in town without pretensions.

SwitzerlandNot meant as a point of criticism - but bigger folk should be aware: At least my room was small, there is a low door and especially in the bathroom the shower is very small. I am 177cm at 110kg and I could still take a shower, but bigger will run into issues. Still I'll go back there no question.
I went for a budget stay and ended up in a very cozy room. It reminded me a bit of "Bag End" (Bilbo/Frodos house in the LoR) with its charm. The reception by the manager was very warm and friendly, following prompt communication by email. The breakfast was all fresh. I also enjoyed that the public bath which is not even 5 min by foot.
