the blankets are too heavy (everywhere in switzerland, not only here). There should be bed sheets independents from the blanket, not only those bag-shaped which contain the blanket. Other thing to do is to lower the temperature in the sleeping rooms.

The pillows could be firmer

Mercedes the Spanish receptionist was so friendly, everyone made us feel comfortable. Breakfast was hearty. On the way the hotel, one has a great view of the Matterhorn. What I really appreciated were the little extras eg the little clothes line to hang undergarments, extra toilet papers, other amenities.

It was a little far from all of the ski lifts if you’re walking in ski boots so I’d recommend going down in shoes and putting your boots on when u get there and chucking ur shoes in a rucksack to ski with. The breakfast was a tad limited too but did the job.

Location was great, super close to the main strip but far enough from the church to not suffer the incessant noise of the bells that ring for 15 mins at a time. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful. One morning another guest took our ski boots for reasons only known to them but the hotel manager arranged for rental replacements immediately and even drove us down to get them so that we didn’t lose more time skiing. The whole team were attentive and helpful.

I asked for a memory foam pillow, and was one that was too hard. When I tried to exchange it, the front desk staff(cannot remember his name) told me that's all they had. But when my friends went to request for the same type of pillows, they were given brand new ones, which was exactly what I had wanted!

The breakfast was okay, not fantastic. Christina at the front desk was excellent! She gave me 2 maps of Zermatt and marked out the Gornergratbahn station and the Gondola station of the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise. She was the best of all the staff at this hotel.

It was a very hot spell when we were there (which I dont think happens too often) and the room was too warm which made the duvet too hot to use and there was no other sheet or blanket to use for cover. That is the only minus I can say about this lovely hotel.

The beds and pillows were lovely and soft and comfortable. The view was perfect and the balcony added outdoor space. The seating area in the room was very comfortable after being out all day walking.

This family run hotel is in a very good location for the centre, station and train/lifts for access to the mountains. It is beautifully appointed and the staff are all very friendly and helpful. It has its own restaurant which is very high quality. The breakfasts are also excellent in quality and choice. We had a top floor room with balcony overlooking the Matterhorn.

Should have requested the top floor for an unobstructed view of the Matterhorn, our room was a floor below so the top floor deck obstructed some of the view.

It’s a shame the shuttle service can’t be booked after 5pm. But there were plenty of taxis around.

I was travelling together with my elderly mother so the modern twin room with a walk in shower was excellent. The hotel provided a nonslip mat and a bar or soap on request as she couldn’t squeeze the soap tube provided and was afraid of slipping in the shower. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was first rate.

The hotel is well situated. The staff was very nice. The room exuded a chalet charm with tall ceilings and wood beams, clean and comfortable. The bathroom had a tub, separate shower and a towel warmer. We were able to enjoy the balcony and view of the Matterhorn. There is a sauna/spa on the property, however we did not use it. One of our family members used it daily and thought it was great!

It is very rare that I would rate a hotel as perfect but Hotel Aristella deserves that rating. The staff are warm, friendly and ever so helpful. The rooms are perfectly clean and simple and supplied with everything one needs for a very comfortable stay. I particularly like the extras that make staying here, very special. For instance they have a menu of different types of pillows to choose from. And small drying racks in the bathroom for personal hand laundry. The complementary breakfast and coffee service is very tasty and good value. I would highly recommend anyone coming to Zermatt to stay at this lovely hotel.
