The room was nice, but there was no hand soap, we had to use the one attached to the shower wall. Some towels were town and had holes in them.

Stayed at the hotel for one night and loved it! The hotel is charming and authentic, the rooms are with low ceilings (though it adds to its unique character). While the bathroom was small, it didn’t detract from the overall experience. The hotel itself is beautiful, and the village is perfect for a leisurely stroll. The views are simply amazing. The staff were very friendly, and we enjoyed a good breakfast.

Would've been nice if the room featured a kettle.

Buffet styled breakfast was included, which featured a good selection. Wasn't expecting our room to feature a balcony nor a mountain view, which was a nice surprise. Great distance from Oeschinen Lake.

Booked the superior room and pictures on booking.com show modern photos of rooms only. We were allocated a room that was really outdated (possibly one of the original rooms when the lodge was first built?!). I spoke to the owner at the reception desk to double check if I booked a completely different room to what was paid, and he explained that rooms are booked to availability and some booking websites don’t picture all rooms. He was kind to quickly move us to another, more modern room that reflected closely to what we booked. I am so glad he was able to accomodate our move request because the new room was perfect, more modern and helped made our stay in Switzerland memorable, comfortable and enjoyable ☺️

Peaceful for a good night sleep and the beds were so comfortable. Only a 7-10min walk to the Kandersteg station and less than 5min walk to connect to Gondola ticket station to complete the Oeschininsee Lake hike. Breakfast was fresh, perfectly cooked and the variety was great! Also, staff/owners were friendly and accomodating and helped with any requests or questions.

I wasn't sure about the bed & the old carpet. I hope they change the bedding daily. I also hope they replace it with a white color and put more sheets on the mattress instead only a overlay. But maybe I am to picky.

The host was nice, everything was good. It was a old, but considering the average prices of hotels in Switzerland I have no reason to complain.

The bed & pillows are a little soft, but we still had a great night sleep. The walls are thin so you can hear noises from other rooms but it wasn’t terrible. Overall the hotel is still perfect and we would definitely return.

The hotel is in an excellent location. Kandersteg is beautiful and is perfect for exploring Oeschinensee & other local attractions. The hotel is small and has everything you need. The breakfast is delicious! No fridge or kettle in the room but there are other facilities to make up for this - a small communal fridge in the corridor and the option to get hot water from the restaurant if needed. The views all around the hotel are stunning. It was the perfect base for our trip.

The breakfast was really good, plenty of choice of cold buffet, cereals, eggs, croissants, and if things ran low, they were topped up straight away. We were even asked if we wanted more eggs, never been asked this in many years.A good choice of coffees too. We had a balcony room at the front, on the road side, but traffic is very light, and non existent overnight. I'd recommend to anyone looking for a nice place to stay, at a reasonable price in an expensive country. It's an easy 10 minute walk on the level from the station, and food shops are close by. The Hotel Alpenblick , 100 metres away, does simple meals at a fair price

The roof in the bathroom was quite low, my husband was not able to stand up straight when he showered. Breakfast was okay, would have liked bacon but the coffee was great!

The bathroom size was tiny and not suitable for the person with weight over 70KG , both of us are small Asian ladies we didn't have problem with the small bathroom. They don't have lift available for moving big luggages to upstair rooms.

The hotel is easy to find which is located close to the main road. The staff was very friendly and responsive quickly. The breakfast had good choices and we loved their fresh hot croissants. The bed is very comfortable and room has a balcony with very nice mountain view. Parking is free and easy to park. They cleaned the room daily with fresh new towels.

The property should inform their guests about the guests card. It was a bit confusing for not explaining the benefits of the card.

Clean rooms. Well located near the station around 10min walk. There’s a bus station to blausee close by. Guest card available for free buses around and discount on some attractions around the area. Walkable to restaurants and supermarkets. Nice views from the balcony. Smooth check in and check out.

I would’ve liked a kettle in my room. To get hot water at night you have to go downstairs into the breakfast area and get it from the coffee machine, which is also closed after 7pm.

It was great to have breakfast included with the option of sitting inside or outside. It was great to have a balcony with the room which wasn’t expected! The room itself was nice and the staff were welcoming.

Bedding could be improved, it is very yellow. The bathroom was also very basic and the toilet was leaking into the drain.

Very basic and the decor was dated. Good value for money in comparison to other hotels, friendly staff, breakfast included, great location and had the necessities.
