Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

CanadaJust the price. It's STEEP. But in that part of town, it was excellent value and just where I needed to be, for a show at Queen Elizabeth Theater. I could have stayed somewhere else for less but then spent the difference on cabs, so, a good tradeoff. My only "complaint" is that I was put in a room across from the ice machine, which was very noticeable when other guests went to fill their buckets . It wasn't a big deal for just one night, and I was barely there, otherwise I would have requested a change. It's ok to ask for this, and I believe they would have not made a fuss at all.
It's a neat and modern hotel. It was impressively quiet in the room I had considering it was facing a busy street and on the 3rd floor, and this matters to me almost more than anything. Nice big room with quality amenities. I enjoyed the pool and hot tub too. I wished I was staying more than one night! Great pillows, nice bed, and funky decor. The staff really go out of their way to make you feel pampered, I was even offered a lavender-scented pillow spray! They really cater to you. I've been so disappointed by hotels lately, this one was so satisfying. The citrus and fruit-flavored waters in the lobby are such a nice touch.

The staff were very friendly, the location is excellent, and the bed was great, particularly on the fourth floor. The third floor room had a balcony, but the people next to us were smoking and it was noisy out there so we didn’t use it.

United KingdomThe only thing I would say is that it would’ve been 10/10 if the breakfast was included as it was quite expensive and also of the gym had a makeover as there wasn’t a lot of space for floor work. The air on also didn’t work in the gym.
The location was great-so close to a lot of things and really easy to get to gas town. We had a great big room with a very big bed and we were very comfortable
