Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United StatesA little moldy smell (being near the beach/area with lush plants). There are A/Cs in the rooms; however, probably not kept on 24/7/365 like big hotels but was not annoying or affect our sleep at all.
This hotel is very small (a few rooms, more like a pousada) and unlike any we stayed at before, it's an experience. The location was a few minutes walk from Geriba beach and ~20 minutes walk from the commercial center, the decoration, plants, and little fish pond = were exceptional, The staff was wonderful and attended to our needs. Breakfast was great. The owners who was traveling called and talked to us to make sure we're taken care of. Just a wonderful comfortable feeling staying there. The backyard had Fruit trees, Acerola, Seriguela, papaya, and banana!

We loved our stay, firstly the staff are treasures, especially Janaina who is so kind, thoughtful and a pleasure to meet. I have been amazed at the good people we have met in our travels through Argentina and Brazil. The breakfast every morning would put most 5 star hotels too shame! Villa Lulu is a beautifully and colourfully decorated & designed guest house with all you need in amenities - coming home after a day on the beach it was an oasis to have a swim and a beer from the fridge (works on honesty system) It is close to Geriba beach (surfing and wide open beach) literally 3 minute walk, down a quiet cobbled road - we loved it being away from the hustle and bustle of the more touristic areas that are not our style - we did get Ubers to explore some of the other beaches which was easy and hassle free. I really recommend Villa Lulu if you are inclined to our way of thinking

Absolutely every single detail about this hotel was memorable. The hotel's owners and staff are extremely attentive, friendly and pleasant. The hotel is very beautiful, a typical boutique hotel. The hotel breakfast was wonderful with a great selection of hot and cold dishes, exceeding all of our expectations. We will certainly consider to return to this hotel at the next opportunity.

SwitzerlandThis is definitely the most amazing place I’ve stayed in for quite a while. The Villa Lulu and especially the rooms have been redone with so much love and attention to detail, that makes you feel like in paradise. The owners Lúciana and Roby are great and will make you feel comfortable and at home from the first minute. And provide you with good hints on where to go dining or surfing or whatever you’d like to do. If it is available, go for the Loft! 😎
