Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandThe staff are kind and helpful. The rooms are clean and quiet and the shower has good pressure and is warm. It has a historical theme and even has a museum in the large house… worth seeing for a slice of Bolivian history. Nice local style breakfast.

CanadaOur 10/10 rating goes beyond the ordinary review of the facilities…Ernesto, host and owner, shared in perfect English his knowledge and love of La Paz. He is always available to answer questions and offer advice for sightseeing and events. The house is set amidst foreign embassies and the property is peaceful with gardens and a relaxing atmosphere while still being a direct 5-10 minutes ride (30 minutes walk) to downtown. The property is a heritage home and the rooms are tastefully renovated with a modern touch, especially the bathrooms with wonderfully hot and powerful showers! Each morning you are treated to a simple yet delicious breakfast. If possible, stay on a Friday or Saturday as directly across the street is a Jazz club with fantastic views of the city!

FranceNothing that we can think of!
From the moment you walk from the hustle & bustle of the La Paz streets and into the peace of the front garden, you know you are staying someplace special. Originally built in 1916, this was the home of Dr xxx and Teresita. Their sons have turned the home into bed and breakfast. The rooms are comfortable, the showers nice and hot. But for the full experience, take the time to explore the house! You feel like you are walking back in time! Family photos and art work are displayed throughout the property. The music room contains 2 vintage pianos and the halls are filled with family memorabilia. Ask Ernesto and he will show you photos of his grandfather & great-grandfather during one of the many Bolivian revolutions. We highly recommend Casa Teresita & will stay again if ever we come back to La Paz!

United StatesHaving access to some small amenities like tea or coffee, in the room or in the front office, would be an improvement.
Ernesto is a wonderful and helpful host, helping to arrange taxi rides, giving advice about how to tour LaPaz, and being easily available. Breakfast was a nice touch. Rooms are impeccably clean.

New ZealandI liked it all.
Superb!!. Amid the bustle of out of control taxis in the city is this and well kept quiet oasis. Very private and well laid out, with top notch rooms at the rear of a very nice home. Everything one needs was provided and the rooms were very good indeed. The host was a friendly, accommodating and welcoming person - and very interesting. Off street parking provided and a very good breakfast in a seperate dining area below the rooms. The owner and staff went out of their way to help and inform guests. These places are hard to find and La Casa de Teresita is an absolute must stay if you are visiting La Paz. Very secure property. An easy 10.

NetherlandsJust minor details: a water cooker for example would be a nice addition, so you are able to make your own tea.
Really friendly host!! The shower was great, it was very new and there was stable hot water. The rooms are very quiet, you don't hear the street at all. The bed is comfortable. There is electric heating available. The room is spacious and it is easy to store your stuff (also in the bathroom). Good breakfast with great bread! Great location in a safe neighborhood, there are good restaurants at 10-15 min walking. The teleferico (blanco and naranja) is at 5 min walking. The city center and bus terminal is 15 min driving.

The place is definitely BEAUTIFUL!! Breakfast was delicious!! Location was great, because it is in the middle of the most important area of La Paz, and feet away from taxi stands and Teleferico. The views of Illimani mountain from my room were very nice too!
