I`ve traveled Bulgaria long enough to understand by now that the cleanliness standards in the country are very different from what we have in the west but still, it really bothers me when the facilities are not spotlessly clean and tidy. If this place got a complete scrub and someone actually cleaned the bathrooms and common areas every day like you`re supposed to, then it would be a true paradise. Same goes for mattresses, they`re not the most comfortable for a week-long stay but I got a trick: place some blankets over the mattress and under the sheet - that way you won`t feel every spring under your ribs.

I choose this place to retreat from the Bulgarian heat into the jungle on the coast. In that way it was perfect for me and exactly what I needed! The vibe is very chill and laid back, the guests are mainly more mature people from all around the globe, quiet and nice to be around. what makes this place stand out is that the owner is very involved in the place and cooks dinner every night - it`s a true feast for only 10 leva. You can also buy drinks there which saves you from trips to the shop. I stayed in the female dorm which was cozy and quiet.

Some corners could be a bit cleaner, and the bus is not running until late.

The garden is an amazing place to find your peace, to make friends or just to have a conversation with one of the cute cats. Almost every evening the owner prepared a meal on the barbecue or grill with local fish, cheeses, or meat and seasonal vegetables accompanied with self made wines. The place makes you feel like home, be careful: once you enter this place, you might not want to leave it anymore. It’s close to really nice beaches and has 24/7 supermarket around the corner. The staff is nice and taking good care of you.

The place seemed a bit ran down given the "superb" rating of the property. The house is a bit old, which isn't an issue on its own and although the room and the bathroom were clean a lot of the ameneties and appliances are outdated or just quite old (like the sofas, an old coin coffee machine, etc.). Some refurbishing needs to be done for the property to actually meet the current superb rating. However, I had no issues whatsoever and I need to point out that I stayed at the hostel in the very beginning of the season, so I guess things could be a bit different when the season actually hits (the owner was actively working on fixing stuff). The location is nice (10 min away by car from Varna city center), but a bit difficult to access, since the streets that lead to the hostel are rather bumpy gravel roads than actual streets.

The host (owner) was super friendly, reliable and speaks multiple languages. The property is quite big and has a nice garden with an outdoor summer kitchen/grill and seating area. Lockers are available and there was also enough storage space in the rooms, linen was clean and the wondow thankfully had a bug net. A lot of power outlets in the womens room where I stayed. Apart from the outdoor area, there is a rooftop terrace (where laundry is put), but there are some sun beds and a lovely veiew towards the sea. In the evening the guests hand out by the grill area (when I satyed the owner had joined them and they had a grill party), but it seems like they do value quite hours, as the gathering ceased before midnight.

They write that the hostel is located far from the sea, but this is only until you find out the short road. Everything is close enough, shops and the sea are nearby.

I really liked the Botanica, tropical greenery, palm trees, bamboo... you feel like a botanical garden, a pleasant place to relax in the fresh air. There is accommodation for different tastes, modest but clean, cleaning every day. Kitchen for self-catering with everything you need. The hospitable owner and the entire hostel staff, pleasant conversations with guests from different countries... I arrived for a couple of days, but stayed for a week, I didn’t want to leave.

This was my first hostel experience and it was one of the best experiences of my life. This hostel is in a great location very close to shop and bus stop. There is a 15min walk to the quiet beach. This is more of a community of people that keep returning because it is a magical place. I highly recommend 😎
