Internet was a bit hit and miss (router seems to need a regular reboot). A bell in reception would have been useful at times to help track down one of the family.

A good base to explore the local monastery and sandstone pyramids from. The local family are great and Svetwa in particular works very hard to ensure you have an enjoyable stay. The house itself is lovely and food in the connected restaurant building is hearty and great value. You will probably need Google translate to make yourself understood (unless you speak Bulgarian) but that can be fun too! It would also be useful to see the words "Family Hotel Dinchova kushta" in English somewhere on the sign outside when you first arrive :-)

Great hospitality and support from the host. She provided even medical pills that we needed due to a difficulty we had, after the communication with a local Medical Doctor. Fresh homemade food for breakfast and dinner. We bought very good local wine at reasonable price.

booked two different types of rooms, standard and deluxe, and sent a request to put them next to each other but only on arrival they turned out to be two standard rooms, the deluxe is upstairs and there weren't two of those next to each other. Switched to two Standards but did not get compensated for the difference. On the first day WiFi simply did not work, spent all evening trying to work. 2nd Day when I complained again about the wifi the modem was finally rebooted, then it worked well with good speed in the restaurant.

free parking, nice garden and terrace, traditional hotel not far from monastery. Kitten is nice for our kids, although it also jumps on your lap when you eat, which is a scare and less hygienic. Nice home made lemonade. Service: When we checked out and our car didn't start all day we got help from the waiter and his neighbour and the hotel offered us our room back in the afternoon to wait for our car to work, and called our rental company a few times. When our son was stuck in the toilet (didn't know how the lock works) the waiter immediately tried to break down the door with his shoulders to try to free him (!); had to hold him back from making unnecessary damage, as my son soon figured out how to operate the lock.

The reception was not welcoming. The room was poorly prepared. The bedding was stored in the wardrobe, so we had to look for it and sort it out. The lady on reception made it seem like too much effort for anything UNTIL we made a real effort to be super nice, when she thawed.

The property itself looked lovely. It was clean, very "ethnic", warm and the food was great. Very tasty. The area around the hotel was fantastic ... not in town, but on the edge of a small authentic village and very close to the monastery.

We would definitely visit this place again if we are visiting the region. The room was very warm and clean with an authentic atmosphere. The breakfast was delicious and we received a compliment dish for dinner.

Everything was amazing. The host was very hospitable and she gave us great recommendations for places to visit. She prepared delicious food for breakfast and dinner. The wines that we tried were also great!! We highly recommend this place to anyone that wants to be in a quite and relaxing space and at the same time feeling like home.

Language barrier was a problem. We used Google translate for the essentials. It would have been helpful to have a printed paper in EN with all common questions already answered. It is nice to connect to the host, in this case we could not. ;-)

Great location near the hike to the Sand mountains. Property is a traditional bulgarian house. Cozy and all you need for a good night sleep. We chose this location as transit for 1 night half way from Corfu to Bucharest. We discovered that Melnik is worth another visit for more days to explore and enjoy the area.

It would be great if the guesthouse could offer triple rooms as well. Also, communication in English was a bit tricky.

Pitoresque location surrounded by weird shaped hills. The traditional built villa is used by us as accommodation for one night when the road to Greece is longer. Very nice hosts, they prepared (despite late arrival) a tasty traditional dinner. Google translate was the champ. Possible short steep hyke arround before going to bed. The rooms are very nice, the bed is excellent. Breakfast served at the table, at the request.

For me, it was a bit warm at certain parts of the day. Even though the rooms are naturally cool, a fan in the room would have been great. I realize I am an uncommon case as everyone else from our party of 6 did not have this issue, but if you do like cooler temperatures, you may be a bit warm at times.

The property is well-maintained and clean. There are a few different areas to spend time outside the room - a balcony overlooking the yard, outdoor dining area and two indoor dining areas. speaking dining - the food Svetla made was absolutely divine. Every single dish we had was delicious and well presented. We were planning on dining out, but we only managed to eat out once - the food at this place is hard to pass up.
