Aleksandra and her family run business are top notch! I couldn't be more happy to have found this location in the city of Rila, close to the Rila Monastery. Aleksandra is warm, caring and personable when it comes to hosting multiple ethnicities. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Very tiny things which don’t affect general meaning : it was not possible to pay by card. And the fact there was no lift. But I understand that in some buildings it is better not to put a lift because they are protected or it could harm the authenticity. My husband and I got each a knee prothesis earlier this year and that’s why a lift would have been welcome. But when we go back to this hotel our knees will be all right again.

The staff, Romeo and Vladimir (brothers) were extremely friendly and helpful. Their mother cooks amazing traditional Bulgarian dishes for dinner. The place was rural but sophisticated at the same time. We didn't want to leave.

The hotel itself is on a hill which means there are stairs up from the small parking lot out front to the reception and restaurant. From the reception there are more stairs up to the building with the rooms. There was no elevator there. It wasn't a problem (and honestly, it can't be helped given where it is), but for someone who might have trouble with stairs, it could be an issue.

The hotel is located on the way to Rita Monastery, which makes it very convenient. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and the family running the hotel is a delight. I was lucky to be the only person staying that night, so I felt like I had my own private concierge! I had dinner at the hotel, which was wonderful. Breakfast in the morning was very filing! I would definitely recommend the hotel.

The host (A grandmom) is very helpful. She advised very clearly on how to use all the facilities. She always nicely answers your inquiries and treat you like her family. The hotel is quiet and pretty closed to the mountainside. I will definitely suggest you to book this hotels for your stay.

Clean and well maintained. Pleasant surroundings. Restaurant is accommodating and food is homemade. Easy access to Rila Monastery, yet located in a small village with accessible hiking trails to explore the natural surroundings.

Stairs are a way of life in Rila. You must get used to them, even when carrying luggage.

What a great place about 20km from Rila Monastery. Comfortable rooms, delightful welcome from the hosts, and excellent homemade meals. A real find! Would definitely recommend.

The family hotel is great. It has a wonderful location and it's very clean and comfortable. The owner is super sweet and kind. It is very close to paths with waterfalls, hiking trails and close to the Monastery. The variety of food can satisfy any taste!

The rooms are spacious and clean. Staff is super friendly and very hospitable. We stayed on the top floor and enjoyed the lovely view towards the valley. The hotel also has its own little restaurant which serves delicious local meals.
