Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceThis is in an old and narrow Belgian house, which is one of its charms. However, to reach the three floors with the bedrooms, you have to climb very narrow stairs, no elevator, not easy with luggage. This means, the hotel is not really adapted for elderly people. If you still feel young enough, the is for you. It is a B&B hotel. You need to arrive for check-in in the early evening or have an arrangement with the owner. The hotel has no car park. You can unload your car in front, but then have to park your car in distant public car parks, the closest being expensive ("Grote Markt" ca. 30 EU/24h). I recommend the parking "Brabo", a bit further away (10 min. walk), but a bit more reasonably priced (ca. 23 EU/24h).
Cosy, picturesque and original little hotel, very close to the very centre of town, nevertheless in a quiet quarter. Our address for Antwerpen! The town is a must for trying great restaurants. A foodie-town, less than 10 minutes to walk from the hotel.

AustraliaGood location. Room size was not as advertised and was small. We had two 7kg backpacks and no space to unpack or store. We had to use a stool in bathroom and floor. Great common area for breakfast. Friendly staff. WIFI not always stable kept dropping out.

BelgiumIt's on old, Flemish building, so poorly isolated from noise and the elements. For breakfast there are no warm options. The stairs leading to the rooms are very steep, so I would not recommend the hotel for anyone with reduced mobility.
Camp aesthetic, very welcome and refreshing. Very kind stuff, and the rooms are extremely clean. Housekeeping is working really hard and it really shows. The location is great as well.

SpainJust one thing, and it's because the building is a nice old one: if you are not a bit fit, you will have to grab yourself well when climbing the stairs to your room :-)
I liked the location very much. The hotel room is fantastic too. And the staff, super nice. The atmosphere is very much personalized into some kind of Marylin Monroe temple, with all the decoration motives very nicely arranged.

NetherlandsNothing I didn't like but consider that the steps are very steep.
I liked the atmosphere and the friendliness of the place and owner. Also, the design with nostalgic pictures on the wall makes it very homey.

PortugalIt was abnormally hot in Belgium, and the room was too hot, you couldn't even sleep. They had a fan, but not enough to go through the heat.
The location was perfect, super central, super close to the main square. There's also a bar very close to Urban Dreams, that was very nice.

Slovakiathe stairs are very narrow and steep, not for people with knee issues. Also, the breakfast was served late (after 8.00 am) I paid for it but I did not make it twice in 3 days :( as I was rushing for my work events
location is great

CanadaMy room was on the ground floor and it was very cold and quite noisy as it was next to the kitchen so I didn't get much sleep. I would recommend trying to get a room on the upper floors. The wifi wasn't working in the evening which was a bit frustrating, but otherwise ok.
The place is very unique, clean and the location is excellent. the lady who served breakfast in the morning was very nice.

United StatesOur only complaint is that it got loud at night with people walking by and yelling, which is no fault of the hotel. But we had to keep the windows open bc otherwise it was uncomfortably warm in the room

IranThe hotel was essentially an old house which was converted to a hotel. 1. It had narrow staircase, which would be a bit tricky if you don't travel light. We saw that in other reviews, so not a big issue for our one-night stay. 2. The bathroom and toilet in our room was made by adding some walls which give you visual privacy, but any sound or smell might be annoying to other people in the room, since there's no isolation.
Nice and easy check in and check out. The room and beds were comfortable and clean. But the best part was the location. We had a view to the -quiet- square in front of us, which was lovely. And of course you're so close to the historical Antwerp area.

United KingdomNot really anything, perhaps the staircase as it is quite steep and may challenge an older person. But that’s also part of the character of this hotel!
We really liked how the hotel was decorated - very unusual and quirky. The many pictures of Marilyn Munro, Brigit Bardo and Audrey Hepburn was a talking point for us, as was the unusual staircase to our room. The room was very comfortable and we liked the view into the neighbourhood square. The breakfast was really lovely, providing a huge range of choices with which to start your day. Our host was very thoughtful and friendly too!

United KingdomThe room we had had a very odd layout, in which the bathroom was between the windows and the bedroom, There was little in the way of privacy and scents travel; so, timing is an issue when using the WC. This is not a property for the infirm or those carrying heavy cases The stairs are some of the steepest I have encountered, with the modern spiral into the entrance area so riddled with H&S don't do's that even I thought it pretty dodgy. I'm amazed it passed whatever planning regs there are!
This is a very well located property in the historic centre a short walk from the Cathedral and in a quiet square. There is a quirky quality to the decoration and a nice laid-back feel to the place.
