    Nothing.

A small accommodating hotel on the outskirts of town - near enough to walk but far enough away. Very friendly and helpful staff, also catering for special dietary needs and excellent breakfast choices.

Big family room and nice pool. Fantastic reception staff especially Joyce who couldn’t do enough for us. She recommended restaurants and some lovely bars to take in the ambiance of Ghent. Helped us with the tram and maps. Extra towels were provided for our 2 swim times. Excellent service.

The insolution of the windows could be renovated/ improved. I am sure in the cold winter months it is hard to keep it warm inside.

The staff was very friendly and always very helpful! The house itself is old, but gives a cozy and inviting feeling.

Unfortunately, the footsteps from upstairs can be heard very loudly from the ceiling. Maybe my family wasn't so lucky that day. Wi-Fi often did not work in the room.

Beautifully exterior, interior facilities, large family room, large comfortable sofa and beds. I really liked the room. I also liked the free parking inside the hotel and the use of the private swimming pool. Above all, the staff working at the concierge were super friendly. The man told us about different ways to get into the city, driving and precautions for driving downtown, and even parking lots, which was a huge help to us that day.

Convenient hotel for a one night stay in Gent

    • Family with young children
    • Deluxe Family Room
    • Stayed 1 night

Some parts of the room were not very clean (very dusty and dirty under one of the beds, but we have asked the staff to intervene and they cleaned it. The furniture is a bit outdated, the hotel generally would deserve to be refurbished (and redecorated in a more modern and design way). The wifi did not function properly.

Very big family room (ideal for a family with 3 kids), comfortable beds, very welcoming staff, very good breakfast. Indoor swimming pool was a nice bonus for the kids.

I was generally very happy with my stay at the Hotel orion and nothing antagonised me enough to complain. I would gladly stay here again when visiting Ghent.

I stayed at the hotel Orion in April and was impressed very big spacious room and lovely shower and set in a lovely up market area. The woman on reception who greeted me was warm and helpful also.

The layout of the room was rather odd with an open shower at one end of the room, a sink in the bedroom and a separate toilet at the other side of the room. The separate toilet had a sink but no soap, which was disappointing. The coffee cups provided were tiny......hardly worth the effort. No public transport options were suggested for getting into the city, we were told to walk....options should be offered! The room was also rather dull and dark.

Parking, Tea and Coffee making, shower.

Everything exceeded our expectations. So can't think of anything to complain.

We recently enjoyed a stay at Hotel Orion Gent with our family. The staff was incredibly responsive, promptly answering any questions we had before and during our visit. The hotel's location in the Krijgslaan area offered a peaceful residential setting while remaining close to the city center and Ghent's St. Peter's Railway Station. Trams and buses were readily available, making it easy to explore the heart of Ghent. We enjoyed both tram rides (lines 3 and 4) and walks into town. Our family room on the ground floor comfortably accommodated all four of us. We were delighted to find a well-equipped kitchenette with a hob, fridge, microwave, pans, cutlery, and crockery. This provided the perfect solution for preparing meals and snacks at our convenience. The small dining table and sofas created a comfortable space to share meals and play games. The long side table offered valuable extra surface area, a thoughtful touch in a hotel room. Essential amenities like toiletries, a hairdryer, and a safe were all provided. Hotel Orion Gent caters beautifully to families. Our daughter was particularly charmed by Tombie, the resident parrot. The indoor pool was a guaranteed hit with the kids, and we all appreciated the sauna as a potential relaxation option after exploring Ghent. While we didn't get the chance to use the sauna due to timing, it was a welcome amenity. The breakfast buffet was delicious, offering a wide variety to satisfy both adults and children. The hotel staff truly deserve special recognition. Their kindness and helpfulness went above and beyond. An elderly receptionist, in particular, made us feel incredibly welcome with her sweet nature. She even went the extra mile to find an adapter for us when our own wouldn't work. Her patience and detailed explanations about reaching the city center using trams were invaluable.

Nothing. The pool and the gym were a bit basic but that was all.

I booked the room to be close to 't Kuipke to visit the start of Omloop het Nieuwsblad and I cycled this sportive myself on Sunday. The location was excellent for 't Kuipke.

It is an extremely pretty property with big rooms. We stayed in the room suitable for 3 adults and the hotel staff was kind enough to provide us baby cot as well. The staff is very helpful and the property has ample parking space and is located in a good area - only 15 min from Centrum. Highly recommend this place!
