Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

the location is great its right in he city center. I was glad I had hairdryer in my room.

Singaporeroom was sutffy, window could not be open so we had a hard time dealing with the heat. staff was apologetic and very sincere, so we weren't too angry but it was uncomfortable.

New ZealandBe careful if using the elevator, I got stuck in it twice then started using the stairs every time as was too scared to use the lift again. Due to the location being in the centre it is very loud at night but if you close the windows it gets very hot.
The room and bathroom were nice. The location was good and right in the centre. The man who works in the afternoon was extremely kind, helpful and had great customer service.

AustraliaIt will be loud overnight, so if you're a light sleeper, pack some ear plugs. This is especially true if you stay in the summer because you'll need to open windows for some air. It is extremely hot in the rooms, there is no air-conditioning and one tiny fan for the whole room - this was not helpful at all!! Very hard to sleep due to temperature in room. Mattress comfort was OK considering this is budget accommodation. They also do not include body wash/shampoo and conditioner as per description on Booking.com, however towel was included.
Convenient location if you want something in the centre. Bathroom was inside room and clean, shared between 4 people.

GermanySince the hotel is very much centric, there is noise 24/7 and the room we got only had 1 window for 4 people, so we had to keep it open to keep it cool. That did not bring us much sleep...
The location was fantastic! Everything was walkable by 5min or less, so that was great. The shower was clean, the sheets too, reception was nice, the luggage room was safe, etc.

AustraliaAlthough breakfast is listed in the booking it is in fact an extra €6.50 per person. This place is fine for just sleeping. Not a great place to return to after a long day as there is nowhere comfortable to sit, the breakfast room is often locked and I couldn't do any work there so went to a local cafe that had free wifi which was ideal. The elevator was often held on another floor by cleaning staff. I would have preferred to book at Generation Europe which is just outside of the central city.
This hostel had loads of character. Rooms very secure and very clean. Very central location. The kitchen and cleaning staff were so nice to talk to. They did a great job. Free wifi (albeit slow)

United KingdomYou needed a key for the locker but you can buy one downstairs (I did have my own, so bring one yourself. You can buy one downstairs). The ELEVATOR was scary to use, sometimes it was good to use but the buttons didn't always work, so I walked the stairs afraid I'd get stuck in the tidy elevator. No shampoo/soap, the staff were busy talking to each other during check ins (but I can't be quick to judge, unsure of what they were speaking about) . The keys to the dorms were Bluetooth, not sure how I feel about that. Also it is in the city centre, so at night the noise can definitely affect your sleep.
I loved that the room had a bathroom, there were curtains for privacy, a small fan, and a window that was able to be opened. The lockers were big enough for a small check in luggage and a small bag. Check in process easy, and easy to find it's location. It is in the city centre too. Felt pretty safe for a female solo traveller.
