Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsThe Wifi wasn't working and I couldn't get it to work even after trying multiple times. I was on the top floor and the wifi never connected. Also for others who read this review, you might wanna reconsider this place if you cannot climb steps as this doesn't have a lift.
The place is accessible, in the centre with all the places to see in the vicinity. The room was nice, and the bed was comfy.

United KingdomThe bathrooms could have been cleaned a bit better and we had WiFi trouble.
Dina was a very nice host. She kindly offered to change my granddad's room to one in a lower floor because he was having trouble with the stairs. The rooms were very comfortable, they were spacious and looked nice. The location was great!

United KingdomWe did not receive clear instructions of how to open the door to the street, but luckily we could call the owner and she explained to us. We only had one coffee and one tea bag to use in the room. They took the hand soap and did not replace it.
The ubication is amazing just a couple of minutes walking from all the touristic attractionf of Ghent. The decoration of the place was very well arranged and beautiful. The bed was very comfortable. They allowed us to enter in our room a bit earlier than the check in time.

NetherlandsA lot of stairs, the WiFi didn’t work and a lot of noise early in the morning because the road was being worked on. Ofcourse this was not the fault of the staff but she could have warned us.
It was clean, nice staff and enough space for the both of us. Cute design of the room.

This is a cute hidden gem of a hotel. Very central location, everything was walkable! Dina is so so nice and helpful. She gave us a whole list of places to check out! The bathtub is very nice and clean. And there was a balcony!

IndiaLocation is far away from the railway station difficult to locate for the novice. Room size is small, needs more furniture & space to keep luggage. Check in at 3.00pm is late. However that's the practise all over Europe, it seems.
Location is central, all the tourist attractions within walkable distance. Check out at 11 is a bit too early.

SwedenThe location is perfect, right in the center of Gent. The cosy room was under the roof (yes, there are a few stairs to climb, but that was okay for me) with a little balcony, pretty quite even with the window open. Good alternative to the more expensive hotels in the area. I did not book any breakfast, so there was no breakfast - good to know. There are some cafes in the are that can be utilized to get your morning coffee.

NetherlandsQuite old inside. It is an old mansion, but I would expect it to be more modern inside. Other than that, everything was fine.
The location of the hotel was very good, in the city centre, but also without having noise troubles. There was no breakfast provided to us. We saw coffee and tea around but we did not have breakfast there. The hotel is unique as it is an old mansion renovated to serve as a hotel. I would recommend it for a night's stay.
