A very good location and very friendly and professional host.

The breakfast set up is in a very small room, which essentially accommodates just 2 tables; I did wonder what would happen if all guests of the B&B asked for breakfast at the same time - where would they be placed? Secondly, what is missing from the breakfast combo is vegetables; you have everything else (cheese, butter, milk, bread etc), but you don't get vegetables. No fruit salad either, but you do get individual pieces of fruit. The initial quantities of food on the table are somehow minimal, but one can request more. The coffee machine is an old Senseo machine - so that needs some getting used to. The toaster is placed on a chair, rather than on a table, so one sort of adapts to get the bread toasted and carried to the plate or you just kneel in front of the chair waiting for the bread to toast. The balcony of the B&b is in fact available only via the breakfast room, which also is available only if you first access a hallway where two other bedrooms are placed, so basically if you need to be on the balcony and get coffee (there is free coffee there available all the time) you need to disturb other people, as you go into that hallway adjacent to the 2 bedrooms and you access the breakfast room. So not the most practical arrangement. The price of the breakfast is as high as a standard continental breakfast in a hotel (comparison to Ibis hotel, for example, where breakfast is 17 eur / p vs the B&B: 17eur 50/p), yet one does not get the same variety of food and options as in a hotel. However, as the location is really in the center, one can do without the breakfast in the b&B (one can find a lot of restaurants in the neighbourhood). Onne word of advice: I suggest one lets the host know beforehand whether they wish to have breakfast or not, as it is clear (to me) that the food purchase is on a 'just in time' basis, plus with the limited physical space to accomodate guests in the breakfast room, the host would need to plan ahead.

The room was clean and comfortable, and so was the bed; the bathroom had all necessary items, and the water was hot and the shower was also very good. The breakfast is sufficient. The host was very nice and friendly, and we could leave our luggage in the b&B till later on the check out day, as we needed to go to a concert and we returned after 10pm to collect our luggage. This saved us the hassle of having to first take the luggage to the car and then go to the concert. The location is excellent for a city trip - I really recommend it. The host pays attention to whether guests still need extras for breakfast and accommodates their needs. Also, she is flexible about the check-out time, maybe also because we checked out on Sunday, so the chances that the B&B was going to be full again was lower than if we had checked out on a Saturday, but her flexibility is well appreciated.

The Wifi wasn't working and I couldn't get it to work even after trying multiple times. I was on the top floor and the wifi never connected. Also for others who read this review, you might wanna reconsider this place if you cannot climb steps as this doesn't have a lift.

The place is accessible, in the centre with all the places to see in the vicinity. The room was nice, and the bed was comfy.

The bathrooms could have been cleaned a bit better and we had WiFi trouble.

Dina was a very nice host. She kindly offered to change my granddad's room to one in a lower floor because he was having trouble with the stairs. The rooms were very comfortable, they were spacious and looked nice. The location was great!

We did not receive clear instructions of how to open the door to the street, but luckily we could call the owner and she explained to us. We only had one coffee and one tea bag to use in the room. They took the hand soap and did not replace it.

The ubication is amazing just a couple of minutes walking from all the touristic attractionf of Ghent. The decoration of the place was very well arranged and beautiful. The bed was very comfortable. They allowed us to enter in our room a bit earlier than the check in time.

We stayed at La Ducale at the end of July, at night we had some trouble sleeping, it was too warm and there were some mosquitos .. besides that we really liked it.

For sure a great location. The room was clean, good size, nice bathroom.

A lot of stairs, the WiFi didn’t work and a lot of noise early in the morning because the road was being worked on. Ofcourse this was not the fault of the staff but she could have warned us.

It was clean, nice staff and enough space for the both of us. Cute design of the room.

Location is far away from the railway station difficult to locate for the novice. Room size is small, needs more furniture & space to keep luggage. Check in at 3.00pm is late. However that's the practise all over Europe, it seems.

Location is central, all the tourist attractions within walkable distance. Check out at 11 is a bit too early.

The location is perfect, right in the center of Gent. The cosy room was under the roof (yes, there are a few stairs to climb, but that was okay for me) with a little balcony, pretty quite even with the window open. Good alternative to the more expensive hotels in the area. I did not book any breakfast, so there was no breakfast - good to know. There are some cafes in the are that can be utilized to get your morning coffee.

Quite old inside. It is an old mansion, but I would expect it to be more modern inside. Other than that, everything was fine.

The location of the hotel was very good, in the city centre, but also without having noise troubles. There was no breakfast provided to us. We saw coffee and tea around but we did not have breakfast there. The hotel is unique as it is an old mansion renovated to serve as a hotel. I would recommend it for a night's stay.
