Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

NetherlandsNot totally soundproof, as we could hear the street noises at night. It was a Saturday, so perhaps during the weekdays it's a lot quieter. Unfortunately due to renovations, the restaurant wasn't operational so we couldn't dine there in the evening. In the bathroom the mirror light didn't work, but perhaps easily fixable and it didn't bother us as there was other light in the room.
Amazing breakfast, very nice room and comfortable bed. Great view from our room and nice location: Central but not in the middle of the busy area. Recently renovated room, very modern. Also a very good shower. We were extremely happy with the parking possibility - very conveniently inside the hotel - as on Saturday the city was full and parking in public parking or garages would have been a real challenge.

GermanyAll was fine - some renovation work was still going on but it did not bother us.
We stayed in a new style Double room, which has been renovated recently. Excellent, kingsize bed, great shower, spacious room. Breakfast is quite pricey, but of great quality and choice. This is a good 4 star hotel, in a very central location, professional staff, with its own small parking lot. We definitely recommend.

The hotel was undergoing major renovation when we were there so they could not give us a room with double bed as requested. They put two beds together which was ok. The room had a bay window which viewed some historic buildings. Blackout curtains - excellent. TV with various international channels including BBC1, 2 and news. Even though workmen were carrying out the renovations, the corridors were very clean and quiet. Very quiet and very clean throughout. Car park under the hotel with discount rate for hotel customers. The shower was fantastic with various settings. We chose not to have breakfast at the hotel.

United KingdomThere was some refurbishment work going on which meant that a restaurant and I assume the bar was shut. There was what seemed like a temporary bar in the breakfast room but didn’t really seem to be practical. Not a big issue at all as there is no shortage of bars close by.
Great location, big and comfortable rooms with excellent bathrooms and very friendly and helpful staff.

United KingdomThe hotel is nearing the end of a refurbishment and some of the corridors were board off. The sound of drilling and construction started at around 9am, just as we were leaving, so it didn't cause a problem. Unfortunately, and possible as a result of the building work the air conditioning wasn't working in my room which made the room very hot. Despite the building work, the staff coped well.
This is lovely hotel in the centre of the city. Very helpful staff and the refurbished rooms are great with super modern bathrooms. The breakfast was also very good.

United StatesHotel was under renovation and my room hadn’t been updated. A few mechanical things should be fixed in the renovation like dripping faucets and inoperative reading lights. No nightstands. No USB outlets. Shower and tub only had very hot to scalding water.
Location right in the center of the historic town. Very large room.
