Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsRoom could really do with a bit more air circulation, in the annex we had 2 small rooms that could open, with the heat it got quite hot in the room.
The room is quite big and the beds are super comfortable. It's located in a nice area so lots of things to do around there and lots of areas you can walk or hike.

NetherlandsThere was no airconditioning and the rooms got quite hot during the night as well which didn’t help our sleep.
It’s an amazing location and castle. We had a super romantic get away and the restaurant has amazing food as well. Breakfast was good quality and really delicious. Definitely recommend going there with your partner

BelgiumIt is very quiet in the hotel, no activities, no cosy atmosphere,, it looked like we were the only ones booking a room, while all the rooms in the hotel were booked.

United KingdomWe had a room in Annexe building so we unnecessarily took luggage up the stairs to reception just to bring it back. Small detail but would have been nice if this was mentioned in welcome email the hotel sent after I made the booking. Breakfast was basic as many other people have commented, me being vegetarian I didn’t have much to eat. We had dinner in restaurant. There was limited options in menu and they force you to pick atleast 2 courses. I am a small eater so had to waste food and money. (33 Euros for 2 courses which I couldn’t eat) . I wish they were more flexible. I would stay again as it is lovely property but will be eating out.
Stayed for one night travelling with a friend. It is a nice property that is very well kept. Staff was nice and helpful. Helped me with reservation and at restaurant for dinner. Had some language barrier but the clever waiter had a solution with Google translate. We had an annexe room so can’t comment on other rooms. Free parking on site and lovely manicured garden, fountain and flowers created a very nice environment

NetherlandsThe finishing of the room we stayed in was very basic, but to be honest the exterior of the buildings and the friendliness and hospitality of the staff 100% made up for this.
The way my dog was treated here was absolutely superb. He got a load of snacks and even his own spot at our breakfast table. The staff was very nice to him and also to us, we arrived early but got a drink and a snack on the house while we waited for the room to be ready. It's sometimes challenging to travel with a dog, especially a large breed like I have, but this place made it feel so easy. There was also a short hike around some horse fields right across the castle, so for a morning or evening walk very accessible.

BelgiumThe on-site restaurant is not always open, and the only alternative at walking distance is closed on the same days. However, there are several other restaurants at 15min by car.
The breakfast was very nice and elaborate. The rooms, separate but with a shared entrance, are perfect for a family with children. Check-in was very smooth, staff very friendly.

NetherlandsFinding a place for dinner Was somewhat challenging at the time of our stay as many restaurants were a driving distance from the château vs walking. We eventually found ourselves in the restaurant within the chateau for dinner - which was good.
The breakfast was delicious! Lots of variety & fresh pastries!

Belgiumto Booking.com-->The lack of detailed descripton from the room we booked. The initial room we got was not in the castle but in the alterred stables with an extremely tiny window. Suffering from claustrophobia i asked to switch the room. Thanks to Excellent hotel reception management we got another room that greatly met our expectations but otherwise we would be very disapointed by the room.
Beautifull location, nice spacious room with comfortable bed and big shower. Very dog friendly stuff especially at the hotel restaurant (our dog had an excellent breakfast offered by restaurant responsible). Willingness of the staff to accomodate our needs.

LuxembourgThe welcome set and bathroom kit are pretty basic for such a nice place. I would recommend to at least add shampoo and shower gel as separate soaps.
The location is absolutely awesome, the castle is beautiful. Being an historical building I was expecting old finitures in the rooms but our room was actually very well maintained. The staff has been very kind and professional. Dinner and breakfast are very good and the restaurant staff has been more than excellent as well. Everything flowed nicely with our stay.

United KingdomThe only thing I would say is that the restaurant served a set 2 or 3 course meal and while excellent food, this was sometimes more than we wanted.
Fantastic staff. Great breakfast and restaurant on site. The setting is beautiful and the staff made the stay, very friendly and helpful. When we arrived late and did not want a full meal the reception staff arranged snacks and a bottle of wine. The Chateau has a lot of great history too.

BelgiumFar below our expectations. We were assigned with a room at the annex and it felt like sleeping in a servants quarter rather than a hotel. The breakfast was not also impressive, the pancake tasted like cooked in old oil. Unfriendly staff at the breakfast area.
