Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceIf I had to say something, it would be that a boiler inside the room would be a nice addition for tea/coffee. Really nothing bad to say!
- Very close on foot from the Old Town (5 mns), close enough on foot from the bus station (~ 15/20mns) - we didn't try to get a taxi. We got engaged on the Old Bridge, so the whole place felt even more special..! - We were immediately taken car of, very efficient reception guy! - The room was very spacious, even with suitcases. - Good breakfast.

Polandbasic breakfasts, unfortunately the cold cuts from the supermarkets were not fresh, after visiting almost all of BiH I expected fresh local cheeses and cold cuts and there is something to be proud of.
Villa located in the center of Mostar, close to the main attractions of the city and the surrounding area, parking space for a car, very large rooms well furnished, with air conditioning and a refrigerator, clean. Very helpful young man at the reception.

United StatesVilla Salvia was a lovely hotel for our recent family trip to Mostar. It is very nicely situated quite close to the center but on a quiet street outside the business of the old town and its crowds. Immaculately clean, really exceptional. Its clear that the hotel is a family business run by people who care.

ItalyThis place is ran like a really nice hotel with personal touch from the owners. Located just a short walk from historic old town. Everything is done with taste and attention to the details, our room was spacious with a nice view of the mountains from the balcony, very clean and comfortable. Marco is an amazing host! Very accommodating, gave us a lot of good information regarding places to visit nearby and restaurants suggestions. Breakfast was superb! homemade cheese prepared by the family, good coffee served in beautifully decorated eating area.

TurkeyThe only problem was that we arrived 1.5 hours early, so our room wasn't ready, which was understandable. However, they advised us to go and wander around instead of sitting in the lobby, even though there were plenty of tables and chairs available. We found that a bit weird.
The location was excellent, 3 mins to walk to the Old Town and the room was clean. The staff were satisfactory, and I would choose to stay here again.

United KingdomWarm Hospitality: The hotel's staff was exceptional, especially Marko. He was so kind, cheerful, and helpful. So were his parents. They were friendly and always available with recommendations for things to see and do. They made us feel welcome and ensured we had a pleasant stay. The cleanliness of the place is worth mentioning here. It is so clean and so close to the central attractions of Mostar, especially the old town. Opposite the hotel is the Great Franciscan church of Peter & Paul, which is the biggest landmark. Overall: If you're searching for a hotel that offers a perfect blend of location, character, and comfort in the heart of Mostar, look no further than the Villa Salvia. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone and will be back on my next visit!

United KingdomNothing really, it’s just a basic hotel in a convenient location. We did have parking in front of the hotel as promised but there wasn’t an obvious parking lot attached to the hotel. If you email to say you’ll need to park your car, they will respond immediately.
The location was the best thing - very close to heart of Mostar. Very clean. Breakfast was fine, filling with some variety. Good shower.

RomaniaThe AC blows right on the bed and we couldn’t keep it on and sleep as well unfortunately. Also, if you want to have the AC running, ask the receptionist to give you a second card so that you have electricity and it works while you are away from the room, visiting. Breakfast wasn’t too varied, we had omlette, a few vegetables, one type of salami, one type of ham, bread, orange juice, some cream cheese and somerhing sweet.
Property is very close to the city center. Staff is friendly. We also had a balcony which had a nice view as well. Bed was comfortable. but the pillows were too big and a bit unconfortable. There was a parking spot right in front of the villa. There is a supermarket 2 minutes away. The also have AC.

MalaysiaIt was not an issue for us but, although the television worked, but the picture was very poor quality. Its biggest drawback is that there is not lift so, for the some, particuarly the elderly or infirm, this might be a problem. That said, the staff were quick to offer to carry our bags up to our room.
It is not a hotel, it is not an apartment, and it is not a guest house (which it describes itself as). It is somewhere between all three! We stayed for three nights and were upgraded, which was nice. The room was spacious, clean, comfortable and in good decorative order. Breakfast was simple but adequate. The staff were helpful but what was provided in the room was quite 'basic'. Examples of this are that we had to ask for a kettle, which on the booking form it said would be provided, and there was only one waste bin, which was in the toilet. Its great advantage is its location, which is very close to the Old Town and the bridge. It is very easy to find, safe and secure, the Wi-Fi worked well and there are numerous restaurants and a supermarket close by. Finally, whatever your religious beliefs, do find time to visit the church opposite which is most impressive.
