Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomTV was dated and had no option for netflix/streaming. Air conditioning was not always the best, but still functioned to keep room cool compared to outside.
Great location in between old Town and close to Latin bridge/city Hall. Amazing viennese cafe which is open late for food/drinks. Very classy rooms with well equipped bathroom. Breakfast buffet had a large variety of traditional bosnian/continental options.

A very nicely preserved hotel, with exceptional furniture and atmosphere (save for the lobby which is a bit old fashioned). Excellent room and breakfast, good quality amenities overall. Comfortable café (kafana) to do office work. Very clean. Walking distance from traditional market and restaurants. A bit longer from main agencies' offices etc.

All the staff of the hotel were professional and helpful. There is no problem that they cannot solve.

TurkeyWifi is very slow. Some TV channels listes weren’t accessible.
The location is unbeatable. It once started raining while we were out, and if the hotel wasn’t this close to Bascarsia, we would have been soaking. The breakfast spread was extraordinary: it had many types of dried meat, eggs, omelettes, cheese, fruit, just amazing! (tip: get your Burek from Bascarsia instead of eating from the buffet) The staff was very friendly, always smiling. Daily housekeeping.

United KingdomWe booked a standard room with a shower; but were for some reason given a superior room but with only a hand. Shower over the bath, although there was a screen and provision for a stand up shower ( see pic) I mentioned to reception there was no possibility to stand up in the shower but nobody came to look. I find using baths with showers over dangerous due to climbing in and out of the tub, preferring walk in showers as per the pictures of the room facilities. Normally a 5 star hotel would offer a separate shower stall when they instal a bath, but not here despite there being room ( eg fatuous bidet not needed Ceiling too high and this ceiling lights not strong enough for bathroom - eg made shaving difficult Although carpet was new, the decor and furniture were tired. And room with a seating area was too large for our needs
Position/ very central

United KingdomThe TV is not working and air conditioning is not on either. When I called the reception to check they told me that the air conditioner is not turned on yet so we need to open the window if we think the room is too warm. The window of our room is facing the street so it was quite noisy at night so we had to choose between getting too hot or too noisy!!!
The staff are very friendly and professional.

SwedenFive star in Sarajevo is something between three to four stars in Sweden were we come from. However, very nice and serviceminded personal at that hotel.
The location is terrific! Close to all that you want to experience. The personal at the reception are excellent and very positive and supported and helped us with everything we asked for. The staff in the restaurant were okay, maybe tired, but worked in slow motion. Younger staff members were more alert.

United KingdomThe hotel would benefit from refurbishment to bring it up to date, particularly the elevators. However we were impressed with the hotel staff and enjoyed staying there.
The room was very large with a sofa, a couple of armchairs, desk and desk chair. There was plenty of storage space for clothes and luggage. The staff were pleasant, friendly and very efficient. Laundry was returned within a couple of hours. The large restaurant catered for large tour groups. Yet breakfast was calm, quiet and well organised. There was a good selection of food to suit most tastes. In the evening the restaurant served well cooked dinners with prompt and attentive service. The hotel also had a separate cafe offering coffee and a wide range of delicious cakes. Both an indoor and outdoor swimming pool were available, along with a Turkish Bath, Sauna and Massage rooms. The hotel also accommodated conferences. There was an underground car park. Located in the old town the historical sites were within easy walking distance. A wide variety of restaurants, cafes and bars were close by. A pleasant pedestrian street, including the covered market, was only minutes away.

United KingdomThe coffee, which may be due to the milk. The bar/cafe is large and was rather empty when we were there which made it feel a bit soulless. But again, the staff were friendly and helpful.
The location is unbeatable, right in the middle of the old town, around the corner from key museums and the site of the 1914 shooting. The front desk staff are very friendly and helpful, with perfect English.
