We loved the Shah Palace, it was a great location, right in the centre of the Old City - easy to walk to sights and restaurants. The hotel was very charming and included historical artifacts. Rooms were spacious and clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful, even escorting us to our taxis (taxis cannot pull up directly to the hotel as it is on the Old City).

The breakfast was very sub standard. There were barely any options for people who do not eat animal products and a severe lack of fresh fruit. I was disappointed.

The way to the room was complex and no elevator reached the room.

If had not been clear that the big open tea lounge closes Saturday night and all Sunday. We were there only Sat night. The staff did however bring us tea and refreshments although it was past closure time so this was very much appreciated.

hotel electric outlets need to be updated. I had to use two pins adapter for my laptop. They need to do something about their muslim shower thing the valve mechanism is so strong it pinched my finger on one occcaion and my privates on another.

Had originally planned for a 4 day stay here because I had read reviews of a smell in the rooms(didn't witness anything like that and I actively tried my best to find something) . When I arrived the beautiful atrium, the amazing location (right next to the entrance of old city gates) and the wonderful stuff convinced me to extend my stay for another 4days. The hotel receptionist Gunay was sweet enough to run around the old city and find group tours for me , Naveed (the other front desk receptionist) was nice enough to recommend places for me to go , Mirza the restaurant staff make me a nice list of must eat local foods. All in all it was a wonderful experience

Just like the other reviews some bathrooms have some periodical bad smell from drainage. But they have put some auto freshener dispensers. Guess nothing much can be done more. But the bathrooms are spacious, clean and well maintained.

Awesome location, walking distance from all old city tourist points. Hotel is heritage look, very good staff and they helped with all requests like charger adapter, taxi, luggage, late check-out, nearby rooms etc.. Breakfast is traditional Turkish and quite good. Nothing to complain really Hamaam inside hotel is good, though sauna was not working, the privacy and convenience was a boon.

The tub leaked all over the floor , even when it was empty . It was not fastened to the floor , so probably the drain was not hooked up correctly -- as there was always water on the floor . I slipped and nearly fell the first night when I entered the bathroom .. not expecting the floor to be wet ..The ceiling in the bathroom was moldy [ probably from the constant water on the floor ] . Our room faced an inner courtyard , so we had no fresh air . We also didn't want to leave the window open , as people were walking by in the hall . We tried to switch rooms , but were told that the hotel was full . The room was fairly dark , and there was no light on one side to read in bed . The tablecloths in the restaurant were a bright woven pattern , and were just brushed off between customers .

The location is excellent --The breakfast was good , and the coffee was great . The view from the top-floor restaurant was wonderful . The staff were all friendly and helpful , and we were right next door to the Tourist Information office , and an ATM . Our room was very spacious and just around the corner from a street with many shops and restaurants . The beds and pillows were good .
