Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesWe appreciated the ice machine on the way out of the gate as you head to the beach. It made it easy to fill the cooler as you were walking that way, but It would be nice to have a self serve ice machine closer to the casitas as well. You are able to get ice from the restaurant too - and they were so nice about it!
We absolutely LOVED the Boardwalk Boutique Hotel. We debated staying here simply because it was not directly on the beach, but I'm so glad we chose it! It was a very short walk, or a fun ride from Chichi, to the beautiful Palapas that are reserved for their guests each day. Their part of the beach is a little oasis with easy access the the bigger cooperate amenities next door should you want/need them. The Boardwalk thought of everything to enhance our stay... from welcome drinks, to beach coolers, water bottles, fresh ice tea each day, yoga mats in the closet. We loved having our own private casita. The beds were extremely comfortable and it was peaceful to wake up to our beautiful lush patio/hammock. The restaurant is fabulous too...we kept canceling our original plans and going back to Coco Cafe. Highly recommend this stay for a couple looking to escape everyday chaos!

United StatesIt is more expensive than I would have liked, with a 10% service fee.
If party buses, crowds and high rise hotels don’t sound relaxing to you, the Boardwalk may be your dream hotel. While not ocean front, it is located a quick two block walk to the beach where the hotel has palapas you can reserve a day ahead or use on a first-come-first-serve basis after 11 am. It is a one mile walk to the high rise area along an ocean front walkway. The grounds are beautifully kept, with lush vegetation. Our casita had a separate bedroom (with comfortable bed), a great room with a well equipped kitchenette (with an induction cook top, microwave, Nespresso machine/pods, iced tea replenished daily), and a private deck perfect for morning coffee and a good book. The front desk, grounds, housekeeping and restaurant staff were consistently friendly and helpful.

United StatesHappy hour at the pool was very limited. You have to call by 8am to get a chair on the beach for the next day and it booked up if you called late. Not too much of a problem because spaces open up eventually however, we needed umbrellas for sun protection.
The gardens around the hotel were beautiful. A tropical sanctuary! We loved not being at one of the high rise hotels as this place was so peaceful. The casitas are very comfortable and spacious and the food was excellent. We can’t wait to go back!!!

United StatesNo complaints, I absolutely loved this hotel. The decor, the staff, the location - it was truly my dream vacation. I would not hesitate to return.
The location of the hotel is perfect, it’s just a block from the beach and reserved beach palapas come with your stay (you have until 11 to claim them). We also received complimentary cold towels on the beach and you can ride in a chichi to get to the beach. We elected to walk though because it’s so close. We were also able to walk to many restaurants.

United StatesMake sure you have bug spray nearby! In the evening, mosquitos come out and they are hungry. There are some fans on the property which helps dissipate them near the restaurant, but we still got several bites every time we went to the restaurant/bar. The hotel borders a wetland area that has very still murky water. Because of the orientation of the casitas, there weren't many windows in ours. The windows we had were opaque so people didn't see in.
The environment and landscaping was lush and beautiful. Walking the grounds felt like exploring a secret garden with something different around each turn. The pools were warm and inviting. Even when happy hour was going on, it never felt too crowded. Our Casita was large, comfortable, and clean. The cleaning staff left nice little finishing touches like fresh iced tea in the fridge and refilled our waters. The location is great, with most things walkable. We rented a car and had no issues with parking. Access to Palm Beach (just South of the Ritz Carlton) is truly a 3 minute walk, and it wasn't too crowded our whole trip.

United StatesThe property is about a five minute walk to the beach, which we knew ahead of time and I much prefer the tranquillity and beauty of this hotel to the big chains on the beach. However, it is not the most pleasant walk to the beach. You have to walk up a road with delivery entrances and mechanics for a hotel on one side and parked cars and vans on the other. A short walk, but not the most pleasant, and I’m sure it was safe (since Aruba is a very safe island), but it made me nervous and I wouldn’t do it alone. There is a transport during the day that runs every once and awhile.
The property is beautiful. It’s on an old coconut plantation and there are tons of native trees and plantings and the pathways, seating areas and buildings are carefully laid out to create privacy and something new around every corner. So many little thoughtful touches throughout the stay from the free personal water bottles to the daily free iced tea and refill off a cold water from housekeeping. The ability to reserve your beach chairs was great and the beach service was nice. The staff was wonderful and so helpful and booked some fantastic tours. The poolside happy hour was fun and we had the best food on our trip at the hotel restaurant. We also really enjoyed the massages at the spa. Everything done to perfection.

United KingdomThere is nothing we don’t like about the property, only one thing will be there are a lot of mosquitoes around. Although the hotel has provided us the spray; there are still a lot.
The vibe is really great and the casitas are super cute as they are all individual houses. Definitely has the luxury boutique feeling. Inside the property, it has enough amenities and even ice box for the beach. Everything is very well thought through, we have had a super stay. It gives you a feeling that you are in the forest as it’s surrounded by palm trees. The hotel staff are super helpful and Demy has been a star for us during our stay. Her level of service has been personal and great in human touch, we really appreciate her effort of finding us the perfect restaurant. We feel so comfortable and well looked after.
