Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

AustraliaBreakfast buffet fine but unremarkable. Often food was luke warm. Lobby bar lacked atmosphere. No biggie though. Also I wasn't particularly happy that on our arrival I was told that parking would cost me $49 a night even though I'd requested a spot in my initial requests and wasn't informed that there was a cost involved. I wouldn't have stayed there had I known that. However, I do have to add that after voicing my annoyance quite clearly, the staff member agreed to waive the fee. Unfortunately this mustn't have been conveyed in notes on the room as the staff member checking us out of the hotel attempted to charge me for parking. After some discussion she too agreed to waive the fee. So, all good. The hotel should make it abundantly clear that there's a substantial fee for parking. Having said that however, overall the staff were excellent, helpful and very friendly.
Great view. Good location though immediate surroundings didn't have any great vibe. However, easy 5 to 10 minute walk to restaurants on the river. Friendly staff. Day concierge exceptionally friendly and helpful.

Staff are exceptional. The hotel is in a great location - riverside - and my room had a great view, so I could watch all the activities that happen every day on the river. The Queensland High Tea served in the Lobby was a great treat for a friend and myself.

AustraliaBreakfast is rather expensive and barista coffee is extra with a separate ordering process. Some disruption to nearby walks and river access owing to riverside works which are currently being undertaken.
The Stamford Plaza is in an excellent location near city centre, park and river. Great views, including of new cross river footbridge construction. Old world ambience is a bonus. I needed to check in two hours early after a 36-hour international trip so I could attend a funeral. Although I could not get advanced commitment to this, staff did accommodate me on arrival for which I was very grateful.

We always love staying at the Stamford - the rooms are cosy & comfy, the staff always go above and beyond to help and are always polite. The breakfast buffet is well stocked, and caters well for children. The rooms are well appointed, and while are quite old, they still feel opulent.
