Pool bar limited in what they can serve eg can't get a simple vodka and soda . Disliked the pool lounges as they were in fabric and stained easily.

Could be cleaner. Front desk staff could be nicer. Vanessa was lovely. Housekeeping was great.

Conveniently located on the pier and close to many restaurants. The room and hotel was nice but this Shangri-La isn’t like the others I’ve stayed at, not as premium as you’d expect. Not as tidy, foyer isn’t as welcoming, awnings are dirty, etc. Still, the hotel and room was pleasant for our group with kiddies and grandparents. Kiddie pool is great height.

The bathroom could do with renovating as it has a shower in a high sided bath which was difficult to get in & out of as an older person. Also the shower head was very small. Parts of the decking around the pool area was warped & it was very hot to walk on without shoes. We were also very unhappy with having to pay upfront a $100 per night security fee ($600 in total) which was deducted on arrival and not refunded to our account until 5 business days later....unsatisfactory.

We stayed in the executive suite and there was a lovely balcony that overlooked to Marina. Spacious sized room with a very comfy king size bed Lovely sized pool with lots of comfy sun lounge chairs and the pool was not hidden in shade by the surrounding buildings (unlike some other resorts). Great location if you plan to do a boating trip. Lots of restaurants nearby.

Maybe could have been some more umbrellas around the pool, but minor problem, I’m sure they would have got more if asked.

The location is fabulous. The hotel itself is filled with friendly staff, nothing is too much trouble. It is clean, well resourced and well thought out. The chamber staff spent a great deal of time in each room, which could only mean attention to detail. The rooms were spacious and the quality of bedding, towels and robes were luxurious, we really felt very spoilt. The view from our room was spectacular, very surreal and had an enormous WoW factor.

Location was so convenient, close to all major activities in Cairns. If you’re looking into reef tours, the location can’t be better. Breakfast was also great, especially the egg dishes made on order. Wonderful breakfast to start the day. Staffs were also professional, and very helpful. The tour desk was exceptionally helpful in making my trips easier rather than trying to book it myself. Would definitely recommend!

The service, staff, facilities, rooms, Horizon Club & food & beverages are all exceptional. The best Hotel we have stayed in many years. The Customer service was fantastic - something very rare in this industry.

For someone who drinks a lot of coffee, the coffee shop was hit or miss depending on what time of day you head down to it.

Located right in the center of Cairns on the water. We got a great value for the stay and our Great Barrier Reef Tour location was right across the parking lot and a nice developed walk area down by the water.

this relates to the shopping mall not the hotel, it is only 50% occupied

The Location is fantastic, numerous choices of restaurants attached to the complex, close to boardwalk and other areas to walk and just a short walk to the city centre. The room was great, air cond worked well and lots of room. Lastly and most importantly the Team are awesome, very friendly and nothing was too much trouble.

This property is ageing. Whilst the room has had a nice update the whole pool area is very tired.

Housekeeping - had to chase down housekeeping twice as it didn’t happen.

Location was fantastic! Restaurant was wonderful- we had beautiful meals there two nights! Coffee from cafe was great also!
