The place smelt of cigarette. The door to the smoking area was always open which probably did not help. For that reason I’ll probably try a different place yo stay next time I visit Melbourne. I did not expect much, but the men’s bathroom on the top floor is in desperate need of maintenance.

That I was not sent the code for after hours access to the hostel (had to get this from another guest); the overall layout of the hostel which was a labyrinth; sparseness of room furnishings including lack of TV; no bathroom towel in room; overall very poor value for money by comparison to other SY properties.

The place was dirty. The room was ok regarding cleaning, but the bathrooms were especially dirty.

The placement is good. The tram to the city stops near the hostel. There's two kitchens, which is great. Eventhough the kitchens are a bit lacking on equipment, then it's definitely possible to cook there The guy at the reception was nice and friendly and gave us a larger room that what we paid for. The accommodation is budget friendly and I would come again.

I had to clean the room for myself (wipe footprints and blacks spots in the walls, inside the bin, all the furnitures), it smelled disgusting, I bought perfume but was not enough.

Friendly staff and good location. Overall cleanliness and maintenance was kinda bad, few bathrooms and showers for the amount of guest, and usually not very clean.

The lock on our door was quite fiddly. Difficult to lock at times sometimes taking up to a minute. There was also only one designated female toilet for the entire hostel. Sometimes had to wait to use.

Great and valuable place to stay. Close by to the event we needed to attend. Contactable Staff, made himself very available at all times. Great considering the holiday season in which we stayed. Very chill and lax hostel rules, yet everyone still kept the place tidy.

Just 1 or 2 bathroom for the whole place, it also mean that you take a shower while someone is having a shower and there is no walls to separate them. Not enough cutlery, old paint in the walls and the decoration is a bit creepy. No locks on the windows either

- Room needs more hooks to hang stuff other than coat hangers provided - Needs more than 1 plug in the room, especially if you're trying to charge your laptop, phone and have the heater on - Heater barely worked and the blanket was thin - Showers need better screens/private showers (all the showers are open with privacy screens but you scan still see through them) and if you want to get changed you either do it in the shower or step out where people can walk in

It was good to have a private room and the location being close to everything. The room was a decent size for a single person and had plenty of shelves.

shower layout not ideal, few utensils and crockery in kitchens, a little run down - stairways and bathrooms need cleaning and decorating but the price was fair.
