Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Australia-Late check in and was checked into a filthy room with an unmade bed with envelopes and rubbish everywhere. I called the reception number on the room keys of which the reception lady answered, and she then called her manager and arranged me to be moved to another room as my checked in room wasn’t ‘done’. The room I was moved to was clean. -There is no car parking facilities.
Great location in CBD

AustraliaThere was a lot of outdoor noise. The floor was very hard and the carpet was missing in sections. The bed and pillows were uncomfortable. There was only 1 very thin blanket which meant it was very cold during the night unless the heater was on - which was very noisy. There was nowhere to park our car to drop off and check in so we ended up driving and parking in a different car park and walking back down - which ended up costing us more money.
It was a very clean room.

AustraliaNoisy at times but that's the downside of the central location. Blanket was paper thin, pillows were thin. No cutlery to make coffee or tea. Toilet was not working perfectly. TV was very small. Basic accommodation.
Location was spot on for CBD access to Rundle Mall. Close to train and tram and hindley Street

AustraliaTV faced door so unable to watch odd set up.
Location on Bank Street fantastic 👏 couldn't open windows so had to use air conditioning for fresh air, shower lacked pressure but did the job. The king bed was 2 singles put together so we left the covers on top and used the spare blankets that was in the room. TV didn't have the ability to cast from phone so could only use the apps that was on the TV such as YouTube. I brought my own TV chromecast and used WiFi.

Locarion is great, close to everything. Problem with that is its noisy there, especially on Saturday nights. The rooms badly need doubke or triple glazing, and are tired and need renovation.

AustraliaThis hotel is very close to nightclubs and the lifestyle of Hindley Street. Most likely used for a "quickie" room or at least this is how it presents. Noisy, basic and in an area that attract a certain type.
This hotel is very close to amenities and clubs, pubs if that is your thing. Easy to get to from the airport and OK if you are not working as aprofessional/

AustraliaPlenty not to like, but OK for the price: room wasn't made up, so had to spend 1st night in another room; asked for upper floor, but got 1st floor; building is old and tired- photos on web site must be 10 years old; had to use intercom to get after hours access; no smart TV/Netflix (TV didn't work at all until they swapped the cable, had to ask for remote control); wifi not working; no wardrobe/storage; quite noisy (nearby music, street noise) especially Fri/Sat nights until 2am. I was on the 1st floor, so may be better on higher floors; box air con, but helped drown out the noise; request to service room (after 1st week there) took 2 days and they didn't change the sheets - had to ask for clean sheets and change the bed myself; only room inclusions were fridge (cold), kettle and toaster (couldn't use toaster as it gave off smoke and setting off smoke alarm costs $800), although there was a communal microwave and (paid) washing machine on 1 floor; lift buttons dodgy. Could go on, but for a budget hotel it was pretty much as expected
Cheap - not fancy, but reasonable value for money. Well located - close to transport, food outlets, city attractions. Good bed. Cold fridge. Reasonably clean (but tired). Staff tried to be helpful. Rooms not serviced (can request service after 3 days), so no intrusions. Free cancellation until just before stay.

AustraliaThe fridge leaked and made the carpet wet. The room was small and looked old and shabby. No parking onsite. When we went around to the parking (after pre paying $25) that was full and no parking available. Was expensive to stay and was a dingy place.
The location was great for the concert.

AustraliaThe wifi didn't work after a couple of days. The room was advertised as having cooking facilities, but only a microwave that operated for 30 seconds a time. The aforementioned racket from the resident smackheads loitering outside the front made sleep impossible.
Location good, noise level from the street druggies made it impossible to sleep but it was interesting to hear the sheer variety of death threats and violent language shouted at great volume every night until 3 or 4 am
