Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaWasn't very clean. The fire alarm went off at 7am, because someone obviously showered with their door open and let the hot steam out, which would set off the alarm. Was clearly stated in the room.
The location was great. Staff were very friendly.

AustraliaBathroom - needs to be repaired. Growing mould from the gash in the wall. Top bunk - missing screws but some how, still very solid and stable however, could be bad if someone is heavier than 60 - 70kgs. Bed base is either a piece of wood to an 'ikea' wardrobe/ drawer - something of that nature.
Loved that it is close to all the shops, literally walking distance. Close to the stadium also, which is what we needed it for. Being next to the only club in Coffs, it wasn't all that loud.

AustraliaI was only informed when I got there that the pub next door is really loud, being there for work I needed to sleep and Saturday night was horrible, The bed was hard and had like fur or dog hair all through it, the heater didn’t work properly so I froze Friday night, couldn’t find another blanket, rooms are absolutely tiny and stains all over the carpet
The room had its own bathroom

AustraliaThe place is tired and in need of repair. The shower and bathroom had mould, rust on framing, it was disgusting. However, for the price it’s what you would expect.
It was central and being our first time we were looking for something cheap and cheerful. For the price, it included a continental breakfast which was pleasant. Upon entry it smelt clean, staff were helpful.

AustraliaStayed 1 night on way from Brisbane to sydney. Very small room, certainly not big enough for all 3 adults to stand up at the same time. Bathroom was very small and having a shower resulted in everything getting wet in the bathroom. We were told not to use hot water or it would set off the sensitive smoke detectors and we would be fined $1700 and the bathroom extraction fan didn't work. Informed recpetion of this and they said the extraction fans had never worked and to have a cool shower to avoid steam. No lift so quite noisy with people moving luggage up and down the stairs.
Plenty of parking.

AustraliaHaving stayed at a couple of Ibis Budgets, Coffs Harbour is on the bottom of the list to return to. It is supposed to be a “3 star hotel”, But so is the one at Sydney Olympic park which leaves Coffs Harbour for dead in terms of quality, Presentation and amenities. Overall the room presented well, But the closer you looked the worse it got. From Mould and Rust in the bathroom, A toilet that was constantly gargling and filling it self up every minute or two, Air conditioner that was more an asthmatic rat and didn’t cool the room down at all in addition to it being on a 1 hour timer. The window opened only a crack and had minimal airflow, The room was stuffy and musty due to limited air flow. Granted the window opening was restricted being on the 2nd level so no one could climb or fall out of it, But either ensure there’s a fully functioning air conditioner for guests to use while in their room. Or ensure there’s a way for guests to get ample fresh air into their room especially after the past few years, A full clean between guest and constant fresh air / Circulated Air in each guest room should be a high priority. On the second night I got back from a Wedding around 1am, Went to swipe my card to enter the reception to go up to my room, The reader wouldn’t accept my card. I spent a good 30 minutes trying to get in before ringing the after hours number, Which rang out the first time. I sent a text, Then finally 10 or so minutes later got through and got let in. Turns out my room key was only programmed for 1 of the 2 nights. Overall the hotels in a great location, BUT!!!! Could seriously do with a renovation and upgrades. Something as simple as a fresh coat of paint, fresh carpets, working air conditioners in each room (especially for Australian Summers) and a Lift to cater for Guests with luggage, limited mobility and disabilities allowing them to access the higher floors easily would seriously improve the quality of the hotel.
Having stayed at a number of Ibis Budget hotels over the years, Knowing they are a cheaper accommodation I wasn’t expecting 5 star quality but at least expect a clean room and friendly staff. The only positive aspect was the price and location, Being $85 a night within walking distance of the Coffs Harbour CBD.

AustraliaIts Budget but the Ibises in other cities that aren't dont charge much more per night either yet are much more modern and much cleaner. My room was 120$ per night and not worth more than $45 in the condition it's in. Had a bit of a crack house feel to it and smell. Lovely staff but the room I had was extremely run down and mold infested. I could smell and see that some lovely person really tried to clean it up well but still mold marks in the entire bathroom all walls and shower walls and around widow frame in room itself. Ripped carpets, marks on walls and doors, chips and cracks all over. Not sure if the place was closed for a long time for mold to grow like that or if they do long term accomondation and somone lived there for a while and didn't clean at all or what.?!. Never stayed anywhere so outdated but staff was really nice and I could see the larger rooms were much nicer and cleaner. So might be just some rooms that are a little more run down. Not sure. I left the widow open the entire stay and I was fine. Staff was really nice and helpful and would be nice to see the place renovated and brought up to standard.
