Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

There was a picture of a bath in photos which was why I booked it, but there was no bath. The staff were helpful, but the hostel was very noisy at night. This feedback was given and staff were apologetic - apparently this was not usual.

Lots of nice communal spaces and the pool looked nice. Good location, walking distance from center of town. The bathrooms had been recently re-done and were very nice.

The vibe was friendly and comfortable. The shared bathrooms were clean and relatively new. The bed was comfortable too. Staff were friendly and overall it was a nice place to stay. Close to Woolworths so easy to get what you need

Welcoming staff, ease of access and flexible re arrival time. Comfortable bed, clean room, fridge in room(!), small washbasin in room. Fan and air/con. Pleasant common seating areas for relaxing and tea/coffee, milk, sugar and kettle near reception which was very welcome on arrival. Even free insect repellant and sunscreen at reception.

United KingdomThe free shuttle on offer is great but the timings didn't seem to align well with the Greyhound coach to Cairns, a popular service. An additional receptionist would be good for when someone is not at the desk, a couple of times I had to wait for someone to return.
Lots of open spaces for socialising, very friendly staff (and not just the reception team, the housekeepers too!) and comfortable beds. Located close to a variety of shops/cafes and next to one of the walking routes up to Castle Hill lookout. Plus the free tea and coffee is a nice little bonus!
