Cozy accommodation in the heart of Townsville
    • Leisure trip

    • Bed in 6-Bed Mixed Dormitory Room (18 - 35 years old only)

The rooms are quite small and have few power sockets, but have a refrigerator and a private bathroom

The staff is very friendly and helpful. The kitchen is well equipped and quite big. The free shuttle is great. Good location, few minutes walk from the information center, the hill or the beach. Also have a bus stop nearby.

A lot of toilets, big spaces, good facilities

Not enough showers and toilets for the amount of guests. Bunks were rather shaky.

Very good value for money. Expected far less for the price. Kitchen and facilities were held clean. Kitchen equipment more than one could ask for. Bit hard to socialize as there seems to be many long term guests.

The door to the room was extremely thin so you could hear every sound made and the light shined through as well.

Really nice place clean and easy going! Very big credit to the fact that the private rooms has its own fridge + freezer! The kitchen was really clean and nice as well and great ac!

It's a great place but for the cost per night it's really only just cheaper than a 3 star hotel. If the rooms.were around $40-$45 per night that would be perfect for that space

    Comfy beds

Not sound proof at all, could hear everything beside us and in the corridor. Lots of people living there it seemed so was noisy early in the morning when they went to work.

On street parking. Waking distance to woombies and shops. Fridge in room. Shower room was big and clean. Kitchen had all you needed including oven. Pool was lovely

Well equipped kitchen, big common area and close to the supermarket. Our room was tidy and had a private fridge as well as a sink. The shared female showers were quite new!

Staff could have been friendlier, lack of plug sockets in the room, a bit messy and cluttered.

Good kitchen, plenty of large open areas to relax and socialise, cold drinking water tap, good location, en-suite bathrooms and showers.

Nothing really other than would like them to get a few air fryers. Wouldn’t mind a chair lift to make lugging all my luggage upstairs easier haha, would also make it wheelchair accessible.

I was in a 6 bed, and apart from 1 we all had single beds/ or were bottom bunk which was lovely. We also had TWO full size fridge freezers in the room which was amazing!!!!! And we had a private bathroom, air con and Wi-Fi. There was a pool but I didn’t use it while I was there so can’t really say. Staff were lovely. Kitchen was in the middle of renovation so can’t properly review that but they had hot plate ovens, and a microwave. Could do with a few air fryers in my opinion but otherwise I was happy. Plus I saw a really cute possum so that was a bonus haha. It’s also not too far to get to catch the greyhound or get a ferry to Magnetic Island.

The hostel wasn't overall sociable compared to what I've had before. Maybe introduce a free hotdog night etc. I had been to Budds in Surfers and they have something on every night which brings people out and mixing.

From having a nightmare hostel in Sydney to arriving at Civic Guest House, it was amazing to see my own room and a double bed. Very clean, I had my own sink and fridge/freezer. It was like home from home. The pool was amazing! Was shocked to see how nice it was.

Kitchen was a bit small for the number of people and got very very hot. Not enough toilets and showers - there was only one of each for women / men on our corridor and I did sometimes have to wait.

We stayed here one night before and one night after our trip to magnetic island. Our twin room was clean, spacious, and even had its own refrigerator. The outdoor communal spaces were really lovely for congregating and meeting people. There were social events arranged by the staff most evenings. There is a free shuttle between the hostel and the greyhound/ferry station a few times per day.

Some of the facilities are quite outdated, like really old, and cleanliness wasn't aways top notch, but the owners are renovating the place and replacing the old showers, toilets etc. Once done, it will be all good :)

I liked the vibes of this hostel, there were social activities organized by the people there. The owners are fantastic, very attentive, talkative and friendly. They are working hard to upgrade their facilities slowly but surely.
