Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

New ZealandEverything was great but my room didn’t have a locker to store valuable things. I stayed in a 18 pod dorm room so not sure how other rooms are. And fridges are not located on the same floor as the kitchen.
Things were absolutely tremendous. All staff were pretty friendly and helpful. Housekeeping staff cleaned all areas regularly. My bed was exceptionally comfy and having its own lights was a big bonus. Providing a towel when you check in thus make your bags lighter. Free breakfast was phenomenal; bread, spread, muesli, cereal, yogurt, coffee and tea of course. Kitchen was a bit tiny but has a bunch of dishes, bowls and cooking utensils so still solid. It even has its own gym(pretty basic though) so can keep fit while you’re travelling.

GermanyThe walls are thin, so when there's someone talking on the hallway you can follow the conversation. The breakfast was nice, some fruit would've been a highly appreciated addition, yet I see the work that would cost and considering it's free one can't really complain. Private bathroom door in the room wouldn't completely close, so might bear that in mind when you value your bathroom privacy
Top location near city center, central station and Roma street parklands (must visit!). Everything was super clean, the room (double room) was equipped with everything I needed. The TV connects to Netflix, you have to log in to your own account to watch something but that was super easy. Everyone was nice and friendly, the interior is pretty (almost modern) and it wasn't too loud (might be different during the summer when there's more people). Free breakfast was good, too.

United KingdomThe 4-bed dorms are a little small, not much room to move around or store things, especially when it is full. The locker are only big enough to hold a few items, and not big enough for a whole bag.
Brisbane Quarters is one of the best hostels I have stayed in. The whole place was very clean and modern, and the bathrooms in particular were absolutely brilliant. The bed were comfortable and had privacy curtains, and the rest of the hostel had good facilitates, including washing rooms, a kitchen, and lounge area and a decent sized pool. Lockers are available in the rooms, as is air conditioning. The centre of the city is along a short walk away, and there are bus-stops nearby, as well lots of places to eat and drink.

Germany- noise (ground floor room): could here people on the streets as well as from the kitchen/hall way area opposite out room the entire night, fridge right next to the bed was also very noisy - cleanliness overall ok, but could be better especially in the bathroom and windows. also didn't like the black floor mat they provided, looked a little unhygienic - hairdryer offered by reception but we later realized it didn't fit into the Australian plug holes - smell in the room was slightly humid - price was quite high for a hostel
- location: max. 10min walk from Central Station, 5min from all the cafes, shops etc. in the city, 25min walk Streets Beach (walk is pretty easy and you can get a nice view from the bridge), you can also hop on the free CityHopper ferry (CityCat costs a few bucks) - accommodating staff: we were able to change our stay short-term without any costs, generally friendly - relaxed atmosphere (typical hostel vibes) - had a private double bed room + private ensuite bathroom with a shower - common kitchen and chill area
