Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Location was in the hill. 10 kms far from the Schladming ski slope. But the route was nice and in the valley. The apartment was nice, well-equipped. The staff was friendly. The meal was perfect in the restaurant of the pension.

IsraelThe bed was disappointing, and the booth a bit too cramped. The shower suffered from bursts of very hot water once or twice and the showerhead was not the best. Wifi was spotty at times The staff struggled with communicating in English but were bright and did their best to help.
Nestled in a sinply stunning valley, this place was truly magical. A marvelous day hike awaits for those unafraid to climb, just up the access road that continues following the lodge (costs 9€). The room is warm and inviting. Gorgeous woodworking all around (furniture, flooring etc.) Surprisingly spacious and welcoming. Spotlessly clean, very well organized. Well equipped kitchen. IsraelNo soap or shampoo in the bath. Breakfast was OK, no veggies at all and very basic selection of cheese or fruit. Definitely did not meet the expectations.
Location was beautiful. The food in the next restaurant (same owners) was nice. The owners are nice. The room is clean and comfortable.

The place is amazing, very picturesque, quiet and surrounded by mountains, woods and fields, there is a river nearby. We enjoyed walks and exploring the area! The cottage is beautiful, wooden with lots of flowers and offers everything you need. I stayed with my family (including a baby and a dog) in an apartment with a kitchen. We had two bedrooms with double/king size beds, a big sofa in each bedroom, a bathroom and a toilet in each bedroom, a very big balcony with a view to the mountain (and some baby goats!). Very clean, very nice place, hosts were lovely and very welcoming, food was very delicious! Lovely garden with kids playground and free private parking! We had an excellent time and enjoyed our stay. Only regret not being able to spend more time there! Would definitely recommend. Excellent value for money!

HungaryWell, this has never ever happened to me over 40 yrs of travelling worldwide... we were nearly thrown out of our room as we left it 10 min after the required check-out. Instead of the normal polite way of requesting our leaving the room we received a (maybe a farm-stile...) rather straightforward "leave it immediately otherwise we will be angry" warning. Breakfast is cold, excludes any hot stuff (fried eggs/sausage etc) Locally made products are nothing better or worse here than any supermarket-traded stuff. The appearance and ambiance of this place is more a hotel already rather than an actual farm (producing dairies daily, etc).
In case you look for a quiet, peaceful location at the end of the road, far away from all amenities and from the everyday "hustle & bustle", this is a great option. Literally at the end of the (toll-free) road. However, good and nice place for wandering/hiking/biking around. Good place for those who have never been to an actual farm and wants to get a feeling how this life(stile) looks. Kids have an extensive playground in safe surroundings.
