This was a fantastic place to stop during our Austrian road trip. The staff were so very friendly and helpful, the room was spotlessly clean and comfortable and the restaurant served a most delicious home made dinner and breakfast. A visit to the Abbey is a must!

Wi-Fi wasn't working in the room. Not very wheelchair accessible - 2 steps at the entrance were not a big deal for us, but breakfast was on the 2nd floor with no elevator. We brought the food downstairs, as the hostess suggested. Old doors that need keys.

The location is excellent - right in the middle of Melk, and you can see Melk Monastery, which is just a few minutes away by car. Liked the hospitality a lot. Everyone were very friendly. Clean. Very good restaurant.

We had a good few days in Melk. It was made exceptional by the staff at Zur Post. They were exceptionally friendly and helpful in a difficult situation during an epic flood. We were so appreciative of all the ways they made us feel welcomed and helped us to make the very best in a tough situation. The hotel and restaurant were outstanding. We will make this hotel a destination when we’re in the region given the opportunity.

This is a real family-run hotel and their commitment to making people feel welcome is exceptional. There was a genuine warmth which is often missing from hotels in big cities. This was a different kind of experience: an escape from Vienna to enjoy this small town with it's exceptional Abbey.

The carpet in the room was dusty, should be removed and leave the wooden floor instead.

Hotel room looked like a palace with all you can expect: comfortable bed, two seats, a comfortable couch, a table a large TV, view on part of the Stift of Melk, a wonderful decorated with pictures of surrounding views and wine yards.

I wish some of these European hotels had a kettle with tea/coffee supplies in their guest rooms.

Atmospheric hotel with so much charm. My room was at the rear and it was spacious, had air conditioning, a walk-in shower, & modern decor. Had a fantastic dinner in the front dining area. Staff were super helpful and friendly. Secure, covered bike storage area. In an excellent position with great views of the Abbey, which is a 5min walk away.

No balcony so keep in mind if you are a smoker. Last minute reservation worked for us and we are very happy.

The room was huge and super comfy for our family of 4. The food was delicious, most of the waiters were top 😍

Parking at check in is a challenge. Patience is required. Location is in an old town so space is limited out front of the hotel. Finding the back entrance to the hotel and parking was easy.

Great location. Good onsite parking. Great staff. Very spacious room with a good view of the street and abbey. Very good restaurant and also a very good breakfast included.

From the minute we arrived we felt so welcome. What a wonderful hotel. Family run and in a great central location in the the stunning town of Melk. incredible Views to the Palace. We hired electric bikes the first day (10€ for half a day) gorgeous 50km cycle up to Spitz and back (lots of places to stop for wine and beer!) Next day went to a family wedding in Wasserkirken by BOAT! we asked SO many question at reception and they were consistently helpful. The food is delicious too, so many homemade delicacies. We cant wait to go back!

It is really good place to tracking and sight seeing around the hotel. Elevator, Table, Paking place is behind.

Perfect location in Melk. I was pleasantly surprised at how big the hotel and restaurant was .. the website doesn’t do it justice. The rooms are modern, comfortable and well maintained with friendly attentive staff throughout.

The double room was a little cramped and so was the bathroom

The staff are amazing and the restaurant food and waitress service very good. Nothing was too much trouble and they were all very polite and helpful .
