Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IsraelThe single room was very small, bearly enough for one person. The bathroom was really small, the shower wasn't comfortable at all as there is not enough room to move inside, it was so tight that you hit the shower and walls every time, also there is a curtain instead of a door, which results in the entire area of the bathroom to be wet as water leaks outside. The bed was really narrow and stiff, so sleeping wasn't the best. All rooms are on ground level, my room was right on the street. It's a pretty quiet street, but you can still hear some noise and it doesn't feel the safest (at least there are 2 windows that lock shut). Check out until 11am which is early. (Most places are until 12pm).
The single room has most of the things you need. cleaning is done everyday. Enough sockets with one near the bed, TV with some channels, key card, perfect wifi, a fan was provided which helped a lot (no a/c), warm shower with okay pressure. The staff was really nice and helpful. I could leave my luggage after checking out (note that the reception is in a different hotel, but it's really close - 2 minutes walk). Location was alright, right near a tram (line 49) which takes you to the center and metro.

TurkeyBathroom's transparent glass is not working properly. Reception told us they would figure out this problem. Pension isnt near to the culturel center by foot but you can easily go to the center by public transportation
Beds and Linens are so comfortable. Room is big enough. There are enough spaces to live. The fan is really working good. Like an A.C

United KingdomThe door to the toilet & shower is semi-transparent (when completely opaque would be preferable for privacy) Not ideal. Could benefit from more accessible electrical sockets. Courtyard outside ground floor window was rather unkempt with litter and meat bones strewn around.
The room was very cool once the fan was running. Beds comfortable and room very clean. Johanna was very helpful in giving clear directions on how to use the Metro, how to locate the room, and she also booked us a taxi to the airport for our very early flight once our stay was complete. Thank you, Johanna!

SerbiaThe room didn't have A/C. The bathroom was practically in the room itself, divided by a sliding door. It looked like a closet.
The location was excellent since we needed the concert hall which was within an easy walking distance. We didn't have any breakfast.

GermanyNot the biggest fan of the bathroom design, but not much can be improved anyway. The curtain block most of the sunlight but not 100%. In the mornings, there were somehow a lot of birds and they were even pecking on our windows, which disturbed our sleep.
A nice and affordable basic accomodation perfect for people who just need a place to stay in Vienna, but prefer to have privacy unlike hostels. Check in is in the boutique hotel but that means you can leave your luggage before check in time or after check out. No air conditioner but a fan is available and luckily it was pretty cold summer when we were in Vienna

SingaporeThe tap was a bit difficult to lift up and down, needed more force. Body & hair wash was combined into one kind of soap and located near the water tap which is less convenient to use when showering. Would be better to have it nearer to the shower and add-on a hair conditioner. No kettle.
Value for money. Clean and tidy. Conveniently located near a supermarket several streets away. Staff at check-in hotel was friendly and check in/out process was efficient. Shower was spacious enough for me and water flow is good. WiFi works well.

TurkeyA couple of issues. I was staying with my teenaged daughter and, as Brits, we were not especially keen on the translucent glass division between the bathroom and the bedroom. Not transparent but still too revealing. The other issue was the lack of sockets. One socket nowhere near the beds isn't good enough for the price I paid. No kettle in the room - again, not good enough for the price bracket. I also didn't *particularly* want to walk up the road with my extra pillows at 10 p.m. from the main hotel because the request from my wife for more pillows that morning hadn't been actioned.
The location was great for us. Close to supermarkets and the airport bus stop, as well as a major metro link. We love walking, so the 20 min walk to the cc was fine. The staff were really friendly and the room decor (if not certain aspects of the design and facilities) was great. Spotlessly clean and clean linen/bed made/room vacuumed every day. Beds were comfy and the shower was lovely.

IsraelIt isn't too much of a hassle, but it is inconvenient that check in is in a different building. The room doesn't have many storage options.
This was the cheapest option for a private room in an area that's somewhat close to the center. The room is small, but provided everything I needed for one night. Very comfortable bed!
