Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Latviainterior, but everything is as in the pictures, it was not a surprise
The room was very spacious. The location is great. The center of the old town is a 10-minute walk away, the metro station is 150 m from the hotel. Very kind, hospitable and caring staff. Rich and tasty breakfast.

AustraliaVery small sign at front of the building. A bit difficult to get your bike through the front door and up the stairs. The reception is on the 8th floor and you can't take your bike in the lift to check in. You will struggle if your are travelling alone.
Good location and breakfast.Friendly staff.

HungaryThe bathroom for our room was really small. A bigger person could barely fit into the shower. Maybe because we chose the cheaper option. Also the bathroom door was a slide glass door. It doesn’t really close off the bathroom. Can be very intimate experience for some 😅.
The accommodation is in very good place in the city. Metro, tram buses whatever you need it’s there. 20 min walk from the tourist centre.

United KingdomI would've liked if the bedsheets had been washed at least once during our stay, I understand that we were sleeping in a budget room but we had been there for 5 days (Wednesday until Sunday) and it was very hot at nights.
The room was cleaned every morning which was appreciated! The location of the hotel was great, very close to the Danube river and was just 5 minutes from the centre of Vienna, as well as close to several shops, bars and restaurants!

LatviaOn the first morning, the coffee wasn't very hot. The lift is amazingly slow. I would pay double to have tea making facilities in my room after 10 pm, or, install a vending machine.
For a budget hotel, the breakfast was excellent.

CyprusThe window is not very well sealed so cold air could blow inside from the bottom of it next to the bed.
The location is the biggest advantage. The hotel staff was welcoming and happy. The rooms were good for a short stay.

ThailandThe double bed was on a corner, so it was a little bit difficult to move around. There was no enough place to hang on the towels.
The staff was over the top, always smiling, and helping with the right recommendations, especially Cecilia from the breakfast who even went beyond on worrying about having oat milk for me (lactose intolerant here). The beds were very comfy, and the room was always clean and with a cozy feeling. We sent a few clothes for laundry in the hotel, and they had them ready the same day at a very reasonable price.

AustraliaThere was no kettle for coffee/tea in the room, but we also weren't expecting it at this price level. Overall extremely good value for money if booked well in advance as we did!
Location is on the edge of the old centre, with Ubahn nearby. We had a nice spacious standard room, with balcony (room 7-20), which was a bonus since it was the only one in the hotel. Simple but effective layout of room and cupboards. Comfy bed and good shower. Breakfast was amazing! The lady who looked after this was very good at the job and took great care looking after the guests. People at reception were extremely friendly and helpful. You don't come across this kind of service often.

We stayed in apartment on the 6th floor which is accessible via a small 70s elevator. The apartment is the perfect sleeping setup for a super central stay in Vienna. The hotel is just at the edge of the center and within walking distance 10-15 min to the main Cathedral with anything else you might need food, attractions etc. just outside. Beds where comfortable and the shower and toilet are brand new and well kept

AzerbaijanAll 5 days of our stay breakfast was absolutely the same, would suggest to change it up a bit (like add some pastry, sausages, other forms of eggs) at least during the week. There was no kettle in the room, you need to go the reception every time you want hot water for tea, plus tea bags were additional price :(
The Pension honestly exceeded my expectations, especially the location was just perfect: right next to the metro station, and 5-7 minutes walk from the centre (Stephansdom and other sights). Breakfast was delicious, the room was clean, comfy and full of light.

United KingdomThe entrance to the block of flats and staircase isn’t welcoming and was always full of cigarette smoke (as was most of vienna!). Use lift to reception on 8th floor once you’ve buzzed through outer door since to avoid staircase and the feeling you are in a prison. There is no kettle (we took our own though hehe, and left our milk cartons overnight on balcony) We would have liked a twin room but managed fine as the double was wider than expected and not the type of mattress where you feel you have gone to sea when your partner moves. There was someone drilling virtually all day whilst someone was renovating a public flat on the first floor but thankfully the incessant noise stopped after a day.(We had worse in Salzburg near main station hearing building foundations work on the next street which shook the room our entire stay so vienna felt quieter in that sense!). At Dr Geissler that jet taking off sound is just cars racing up the cobbled street outside - fortunately it’s not a main thoroughfare just the odd car leaving a car park opposite.
Winter visit Jan24 - Location, bright room (5-26) with juliette balcony allowing great temperature control. lift, tv, shower, hair dryer all worked perfectly, no noise from neighbours even barely noticed their standard comings and goings from the private shared area on our floor. Staff helpful and delighted my wife with chocolates on her birthday. Happy the cleaners respected our DND sign as we don’t like our room rebuilding each day! We appreciate not everyone speaks English but staff did well. Shared toilet not a problem. modest decor comfortable and not a problem at this price point. Breakfast was adequate and I appreciated the decaf coffee. i drank the tap water and it was fine. Reception kindly held our bags till 2pm before we left for home. (Tip: use S-bahn S7 service, just 22mins from Wien Mitte to Airport for €4.20 ea, not the CAT (airport train, 15mins) from same station at €15 ea! - buy tickets at OBB office in station) (Tip: Whilst the 3 day Salzburg card was awesome as it gave u all transport & full entry to everything in that city, we did NOT buy the vienna card (with its bigger cost, only mini entry discounts and some transports excluded) despite being there 4 nights, preferring instead to buy combo tickets from official attraction own websites and walked to most places which we reckon worked out way cheaper for us) (Tip: You can buy pizza slices from a stall at the Schwedenplatz subway entrance by the river near the pension - shame we only spotted it when leaving!)
