There are two things that would need consideration, 1. Room decore, could be updated, a bit dated. Putting this to one side, the rooms are still comfortable, clean and spacious . 2. Would need to be made very clear to bookings that there is no air conditioning to rooms with lake views. With the high temperatures could be an issue for some people.

The location was great, access to the town and right on the lake, views beautiful, dining outside with the views could not be more beautiful. Food was really good, staff brilliant, really good value for the effort put in by all the staff, from reception, dining to the bar. 5 star. Rooms large , clean and comfortable, lake view recommended.

Spiders are everywhere, no cleaning of balconies, walls and ceiling since long. No air conditioning.

I was very disappointed by the rooms. Our room was far from luxury for such a luxurious hotel. The room looked like it needed a face lift chipped paint on the walls. Dirty curtains. Loads of dust. Our air con also failed to work so we were given a fan in August heat which was not great. The glasses in the room were also dirty.

The private beach and the views from the hotel are worth the money for this property. Probably the best location in Zell am see. The staff were fantastic in the restaurant at both dinner and breakfast and check in.

I’ve booked a two bedrooms suit,ants kept coming from the balcony. We had no food yet it was all over the table and floor. We complained about the ants two times; they vacuum it and spray something and leave,but they still come back. Had to kill dozens of them and left it intentionally on the floor yet housekeeping didn’t clean it for days! Table was sticky and spoons were not clean when we first arrived.

If you order anything from room services you have to pay extra €15 just to bring it to yr room . Plus checking out is sharply at 11:00 a.m otherwise they will add €70 in yr bill .

I did not receive Grand hotels promised ambition of inclusivity and a welcoming environment for all guests - since most of the visitors are Arabic and from a culture where you as a woman is usually not respected, this did not feel welcoming at all. As a woman of western culture, who dresses and speaks freely, I received hostile attitudes from the other guests and this cultural collision did unfortunately affect my overall impression of Grand hotel Zell am see. ( I.e- Sometimes the hotel felt like a sanctuary for Arabic men to behave in an old-fashioned, oppressive, and hostile manner with no one to bat an eye. Europe for me is all about friendliness, manners and respect across both genders.)

The hotel itself is at a beautiful location and the service was great, the staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was delicious. Extra + for the real coffee you get served instead of the watery machine coffee.

The most annoying part of the whole stay was the cleaning maids of the rooms I was at the fifth floor and there were two maids that were just rude and disrespectful they would enter the room without even knocking at the door , and when they enter and see you naked at my case the don’t even ask for your permission 🤕😵‍💫😡 there is a time where the literally shouted at me for breaking a glass of water by mistake she was cursing and saying bad words , I think she was racist I don’t know , I don’t know even why they would put a 60 year old maid to clean a family room , such an annoying experience

The cultulal differens from the croud of arabic guests made the stay less pleasant than we thought. Be aware.

No coffee bar and no AC. The breakfast buffet had kids grabbing items from buffet line which I was not a fan of nor appetizing.

The location was awesome and had a beautiful view from the room. The shower was hot and had plenty of room in the bathroom. The bar staff was excellent.

It could’ve had a bit more food options. Also, a small thing but better signage on the road in would be better as it’s really easy to overshoot the property if we follow only google maps!

Amazing location right by the lake. A real old world charm to the property. Our room was really spacious with a nice balcony overlooking the lake!
