Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. The hosts were so lovely and welcoming it felt like home. They had lots of nice treats as an entry gift. The kitchen had everything you needed. Clean. We even had a car issue and the hosts came down straight away to check if we were alright. Highly recommend staying here!

LatviaThis definitely was one of the best accommodations, that we had ever stayed at! The hosts are very lovely and welcoming people. We were welcomed with a welcome drink, wine, a freshly baked cake and bread from the local bakery! The accommodation itself was wonderful! The rooms were very spacious and the kitchen had everything and more than what we needed. The location is great if you are planing to visit the Dolomites, because many of the attractions are a short drive away. We also really enjoyed the opportunity to have out meals outside in the beautiful garden!

The apartment is located in a very quiet and isolated street, but very close to everything in town, and to the main road. Highly recommended!

Czech RepublicEverythig was just perfect. Karin and Lois are amazing couple, they welcomed us as a part of their family. Karin baked a cake, some basic staff was in the fridge, Lois prepared welcome drink. Appartment was clean and perfect equipped. We felt there like at home.

HungaryOwners Karin and Lois were so kind. They prepared a welcome package and helped with everything. Apartment The apartment is beautiful. It's more beautiful in person than in the pictures. Unique, special and very friendly. We loved the garden. Just sitting there or playing with the kids. A magical place. Sillian Sillian is a beautiful little town. Beautiful houses and streets. We were at the local football field and we were also at a local game. All were very good. Shopping opportunities and Lienz are also very close.
