Beautiful rustic charm, you could smell the wood of the beams throughout the stay. Lovely breakfast spread in the ground level cafe for €15. Incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Free upgrade to a room with a balcony!! Super central location, few minutes walk to anything you need.

Loved everything about it - rooms full of character, lovely view, super kind and lovely host!!! Hallstatt, although crowded with tourists during the daytime, quietens down towards the evenings and the more reason to book a stay :)

The decor was a bit outdated and needed a few touch-ups here and there but this didn't have a really negative effect on our stay

We stayed here for one night which was lovely - very clean, shared bathroom but we had two toilets and two bathrooms on our floor so never needed to wait. The most beautiful view of the lake and town so we purchased breakfast in the morning to eat up there. The host was so so nice as well - showed us what to see and a map and was very friendly! Would recommend staying if you don't mind a shared bathroom!

This was the most amazing property I stayed in and Ferenz and everyone were so nice and incredibly kind and helpful. The property was clean and homey and was historic for the family. Hallstatt is a special place -- a home for many people, and it means that all of us who are visiting need to make sure that we are respectful of that reality. I'm so appreciative to have been welcomed into this home and I know for a fact that when I return to Vienna, I will be staying here.

The property is in a great location but as with most hotels in the area you must park your car outside the center and catch a shuttle or walk in with luggage. Still, it was worth the walk!

We loved the location and the accommodations. We reserved two rooms and they were both amazing. The host and manager, Franz, is the absolute sweetest. He is very professional and kind. We enjoyed the views from the balcony, the friendly host, and the comfortable rooms. The shared bathrooms were clean and very nice. Staying at a place like this fully embodies what it means to stay in Hallstatt Austria and to be in Europe. Such a gem - we would return in a heartbeat!

It is an old building so no AC but keeping the windows open was perfect.

Small hotel in the heart of Hallsatt! We were told it is a 600 year old building and it is full of charm - great view of the lake from the balcony, wood details throughout and nice size room.
