Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ItalyNothing, all was perfect
Everything. The room was very nice, the kingsize bed was really comfortable. The things that I had appreciate was the mezanino plane, in which I could took hot thé in the afternoon, a moment to relax during the various visits to museums. The location is perfect, near museums, parks, church and subway. The staff was available and friendly. I suggest this location!

United StatesBreakfast -- I would have eaten in there if they just had a simple croissant and coffee option that was less than 12.50 Euros. Also, the room was tiny and reception was in a tiny area that felt crowded. Reception people did a great job though!
The people at the front desk are the real star of the show! So helpful, and willing to go the extra mile to ensure comfort. Great advice on where to go for things.

United StatesNothing.
The room was tastefully furnished with high quality equipment and furniture and it was good size. The service was excellent! The front desk staff helped us store our luggage and offered us complimentary museum tickets which saved us much money. The hotel also is equipped with a resting area, a library and offers Sunday afternoon concerts. We felt they truly going out of their way in making guests felt at home and making connections.

Everything. I had stayed here back in 2014 and I think it’s been completely renovated. I remember I lined the hotel before which is why we chose it again. Staff were exceptional- nice, helpful and welcoming. Room was gorgeous with comfortable beds and pillows, great bathroom. I loved the attention to detail, and each room had its own character. They provided enough hangers which is never the case in any hotel. The location is perfect - very centrally located with walking distance to the public train and tram system, right next to a great outdoor market, and as we were going to the Opera just a 10 min walk max to the opera house. The breakfast was amazing.

United StatesThe room was very clean, but the bathroom walls could use a deep clean (toothpaste splashes!) Yes, I'm nitpicking. I really liked the place.
This is a great gem of a small hotel! Rooms are small but comfortable and the breakfast and staff are amazing! Location is super close to Nachsmarkt for easy meals and also convenient to downtown sights. Beds were comfy.

United KingdomCan't fault it, everything was first class.
The staff were both friendly and helpful, from people on reception to all those serving breakfast (which was excellent), and all spoke good English. The Beethoven has a lovely ambience, full of character. The cocktails in the evening need to be tried! Location is excellent, down a quiet side road only 2 minutes from the Naschmarkt, maybe 10 minutes from the Hofburg and St Stephen's. I need to thank everyone who helped with my mobility scooter and provided somewhere to store it. No-one ever looked anything less than happy to help. I don't know your names, but I'm sure you'll know who you are; a big thank-you to each and every one of you! .

ItalyNothing that I can think of.
My sister and I booked this hotel for two nights, and ended up extending our stay for a third night, with management confirming our initial rate. Our room on the first floor was very quiet, with two very comfortable beds and a spacious bathroom, which included terrycloth robes and big, soft towels. Coffee and tea are complimentary on the hotel's mezzanine level, where we sat to relax and read. The location is fabulous for touring Vienna. Perhaps the best part of the stay was the service - the front desk staff was very helpful in providing directions, booking restaurants, etc. I would definitely return here if I were to go back to Vienna.
