Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsThe fee you have to pay for your dog is disproportionately high (€28 per night, whereas usually it is around €15). The breakfast is also very expensive.
The bartender was very friendly, the room was quite spacious, and there was access to a (non-fenced) terrace. There is happy hour at the bar every day and there was also live music.

JerseyReally fantastic hotel and I feel the owner really understands what families need! Friendly staff, very helpful and an amazing play area for the kids with animals, electric cars, lake, trampolines and a river running alongside. Happy hours and live music on some nights in the bar. Lovely atmosphere. The spa facilities are world class. Great little gym with nice view. Lots to do in the area. Thanks for a lovely stay

United KingdomWe were not told about the extra cost for the fridge (€10), which we paid on departure. It was an honest mistake on part of the staff. (Another review also mentioned this). It’s in line with other fees for various services, such as paid wifi in the room (€5 per day) and a rather pricey breakfast (€15 small breakfast - 2 buns, butter, jam, honey, 1 hot drink, 1 cold drink, or a bigger breakfast at nearly €30). It’s fair to say we didn’t need to use either service, but it’s good to be prepared for this extra cost if you’re not planning on going shopping :) Parking by the hotel is free, though.
Nicely located - close to Hintersteinersee, Söll and Wörgl bergbahns. We were lucky to have one of the quieter rooms of the hotel (at the back). Also much cooler during the heatwave. Not much of a mountain view, but those rooms get much more sun (and heat) and noise from the restaurant. The room was tidied regularly. It was also nice to be able to request a small fridge for the room. The staff we met were friendly. Overall, the hotel was what we personally needed as far as location, quiet room and easy access to the local sights.

NetherlandsLocation wasn’t ideal for us but might be perfect for others. It was hard to find accommodation in the area, which is why we ended up here.
Friendly reception. Hotel is located a it out of the way and caters to families with kids. Large play/amusement area for kids and parents. For us as a middle aged couple passing through without a car location wasn’t ideal perfectly fine stay. Has onsite restaurant

United KingdomJust some minor things like: - lack of kettle in the room - limited number of parking spaces (reservation not possible ) - no swimming pool - sauna not open in the morning - extra fee for a dog
Nice views, a bit off road location, comfortable beds and spacious room, dog friendly, elevator, restaurant and bar on site - good price value ratio. Staff were very kind and accommodating. We have booked 2 separate rooms for 3 people and upon arrival were offered instead a very comfortable suite with one separate bedroom, living room with a sofa and a second double bed and large bathroom. We stayed only one night on our way to Italy, but we will definitely consider coming in winter again, as there are nice skiing slopes nearby.

Hotel Berghof is a great place for families with children - there is a big playground outside (with animals) and a playroom inside, and in the evening a special program awaits the youngest travellers. The staff is amazing and we felt welcomed in every way. Our room was nicely decorated, fresh and clean. Spacious balcony was available for sunbathing. Just around the corner start hiking routes. In 5 km there is ~6,5 km walking route around Hintersteiner See. It's better not to take a stroller there due to stairs but the path itself is not hard.

PolandWhen I arrived with my wife at this hotel, it turned out that there was no room booked. The only room available was twice as expensive (for 4 people). Since it was already dark outside and I had nowhere to go, I had to pay. It was just a fiasco. The shower door did not work properly.
It's a quiet place. Lots of parking spaces.

GermanyWhile making the booking here it didn't state clearly that the spa costs an extra of 25 Euro. Also no info that there's a mini-breakfast available for 15 Euro in the lobby. In my room there was an extra bed on the floor which left very little room to maneuver. (I had booked one bed only). The fact that WiFi in the rooms costs extra is a bit silly and outdated...
Convenient location and really nice spa area. Three good saunas and plenty of rest areas. Very clean and good bathroom in my room.

SloveniaBreakfast was a bit pricey, wifi is not for free. You need to pay extra for the spa even if you get the bathrobe in the room.. The room was a bit cold on the first day of arrival, but on the second day, it was better. There is no fridge in the room and I wouldn't say I liked bathroom amenities - only shampoo in strange doser. The towels were worn out.
The hotel has a nice alpine design. We liked the decoration, welcome drink and place for kids to play. The room was clean and the hotel was nice overall. The breakfast was delicious, there was everything needed. They even have animals and an outdoor playground. We got a free upgrade of the room and we liked it! The staff is nice and friendly. The nightly price was good!

Czech RepublicInternet connection was a bit slow, I belive that it could be better. Also - it is not usual in this kind of hotel to offer WIFI only against the payment in the hotel room, it should be included in the price. I was somehow lucky and I have got the access as a bonus.
