Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustriaTap water not drinkable.
Cozy balcony with a fiew so stunning it's hard to ever leave, but if you do you are rewarded with the wonderful Filikuri beach only 10min away. Eggs & french toast for breakfast, good vibes, feels like home. The old lady which runs the place is an absolute sweetheart but unfortunately doesn't speak much English so be patient with her and try to avoid misunderstandings. (If you know a few words of Greek you will be instantly her favorite.)

UkraineIt would be better to add some dishes, mostly is needed a normal knife. Also is a problem with shower and it needs fixing, because water is going out very slowly. Also for somebody it can be a problem to go up to the hostel, because it is located high on the mountain.
There is a wonderful view from the terrace, very comfortable beds. It is very peaceful place far away from noisy bars. Also towels are included. There is a place where you can meet nice people all over the world. Owner is a nice woman, she doesn’t speak English well, but she tries and all understand each other. Also if you want, you can ask owner and she will cook for you meal. Hot water was always and Wi-Fi also was good.

HungaryIt's a bit hike to get to the hostel esp when it was a hot day.
Great view of the city and surrounding areas, close to the Filikuri beach, common area to socialize and meet other travelers.

Czech RepublicWell, it was full and not all the people respect the hygiene basics, so especially the bathroom was not as clean as I would like. Also the shower corner is really tiny, so the water is everywhere after use.
The view is just perfect and a beautiful Filikuri beach is close to the house. It is not easy to get to the hostel with a suitcase but it's worth it. The sheets were clean and so were the blankets. Wifi worked well. The host is friendly and nice. You can buy some water or drinks from the fridge there. I also saw a kitten there, that was cute.

AlbaniaThe hill was a bit daunting, but only because I have a bad knee.
Very clean and comfortable dorms with great air conditioning. Jaja and George are the nicest hosts and really make you feel welcome. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The highlight was the view from the veranda! Perfect for sunset with a cold beer. My favorite hostel in Albania!

United KingdomNothing! It was great
Lovely host and she was super helpful and caring! The rooms were spacious with air conditioning and allowed you to be quite social. The bathroom and laundry work well, the host will do the laundry for you. It was a great location right next to the beach and nearby restaurants (except it's up a very steep hill but totally worth it). Gorgeous views and places to sit and watch the sunset.

United KingdomI would be aware that the dorms are mixed.
Location above town with an amazing view of the bay from the terrace. Ten minutes walk from the best beach I found in Albania, Filikuri. Great price. Friendly atmosphere. Jaja the formidable owner makes complimentary turkish coffee and a great breakfast for 400 Lek. Air con, small kitchen facilities, large terraces for sunbathing and enjoying the view and lots of space to dry beach stuff.

FinlandIt's a cheap hostel. Not everything is tip top. But they clean it every day.
Terrace with a cool view. Nice people. You can buy bevvies such as beer and water, they're in the fridge for a reasonable price. People say stuff about the owner, but she's ok. She's a bit rough on the edges but doesn't really complain about stuff some "nicer" people would.

Nice to be out of the hustle of Himare. Felt like a home and had that great relaxed feel. The view is epic and the walks to Filikuri beach is so nice. Was more closer to the real laidback version of Albania but could walk into town for a little party action.

AustraliaYaya (the women who runs the hostel) although very welcoming with most guests, lost her temper on multiple occasions at guests as they arrived due to very minor issues. It was very unprofessional and I’m sure not a very good experience for those affected. Kitchen facilities are no good either so don’t come here if you want to cook.
Unbelievable view. Close to Filikuri beach which is the best in the area. Comfortable rooms. Friendly atmosphere.

FinlandThe staff’s approach on conflict resolution has some room for improvement in my opinion; some guests were confronted very aggressively for unforeseen and uncontrollable things like checking in late due to a delayed bus.
The outoor areas were especially beautiful and comfortable; this is a hostel you might want to spend time at even during the day. The other guests were friendly and sociable, so meeting new friends and making spontaneous plans with them was easy and added so much to my trip.

SpainNothing really to complain about. It is a hike up the hill to get there if you're coming on foot but you can always get a taxi if you want. The fridge in our room didnt work so well but no biggie.
Amazing location with an incredible view! Bed was comfortable and AC was good. The host was lovely and made sure everyone was looked after. Beers and waters are available at the hostel, saving a trip into town. Relatively close to Filikuri beach (even if it is a bit of a climb down).

FranceBest hostel in town if you are looking for peaceful and authenticity. The view is amazing and you can look at the sunset every evening. Yaya, the owner is so nice and did a lot of things to made our life easier. You just need 15 minutes walking to reach Filikuri beach which is great. I had booked 2 nights and I finally stayed 6.

New ZealandThe bathroom shower is tiny and the shower head sprayed water in all directions so getting water all over the bathroom floor is inevitable.
The view is worth the hike up the hill. The hammock chair is a great spot to sit and observe the view. The bed was very comfortable! The host and her husband were very kind. They are interested in different cultures and I enjoyed chatting with them.

United KingdomA minor downside is that hostel owner does not speak english, only greek and albanian. This can make communication challenging if you don't happen to speak those languages. Additionally, the shower has a curtain instead of a cubicle, so water can easily get onto the bathroom floor.
The best thing about this place is the picturesque view. Perched on a hill, it offers a fantastic panorama of Himara. It's also conveniently close to Filikuri Beach, which is probably the best beach I've ever been to. The air conditioning works well, and there's a fridge in each room. The terrace is a great spot to relax and socialize. Drinks, including water, beer, and coffee, are very reasonably priced. The breakfast for €4 is excellent value, providing a substantial meal that will likely keep you full until dinner. You'll feel right at home at this hostel. While it's sociable, it's not a party hostel, making it perfect for a relaxing stay.
