The location was one of the main reasons for choosing to stay here, I was in London to take part in the marathon and this place is close to the DLR line so it makes it easy to get to the start line. The apartment was well equipped with a full kitchen and a decent sized bathroom. Check in was easy and even though they were renovating the reception area it was still clean and the staff were very helpful.

The only thing for me was the pillows in our room were a bit too firm but that is just a personal thing and probably won't bother too many people

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Shaftoe's. We were only there for one night, but we still felt like honoured guests, such was the warmth and authenticity of Dave and Lois' hospitality. They have evidently put so much thought into how to run a B&B well, as though they have taken the best of all the places they've ever stayed themselves and used those ideas at Shaftoe's.

A modern, clean room with comfortable bed. The bathtub was a lovely perk. Attentive and polite staff, buffet breakfast included in the price. Good value for money. Dog friendly !

The windows don't open at all, not even a little bit. There was no fresh air in the room at night. For someone who always sleeps with the windows open, it was an uncomfortable experience

This is the second time I have been to this hotel. They advertise their hotel as having an airconditioning but they have one inside the room but it just doesn’t work.
