Very nice, helpful staff. Very clean. Comfortable bed. Good breakfast choice and lovely quiet location. Free parking. Good sleep. Lovely walks straight from the door. Free upgrade to a bigger room as I had booked a twin room and decided on a double room. Cheerful staff.

Location is great for getting around but there are plenty of other hotels near by that would be much better.

It was very dirty, the place needs an intense deep Clean. The hallways smelt disgusting, a mixture of damp mould vomit and air freshner. The carpet was filthy, wallpaper peeling, mould on the bathroom roof and the extractor fan did nothing. We were afraid to put our feet on the floor. The bathroom towel rail was covered in sharp, flaky rust. Our drunk neighbour's were fighting from 3am til 5am and the walls are so thin it felt like they were in our bedroom. The pictures are very very misleading. They make it look charming and rustic when actually its just an offensive health hazard. We paid 237 pound for two nights but on the night of i checked what a room was going for and it was 70quid. For 50 quid less i would have been less surprised at the decrepit state. Will never stay again and will advise others not to also.

Over booked and refuse to accommodate us due to already selling the room I had booked via booking.com. The response from hotel management was “ we will refund you and you can find somewhere else to stay” After some discussion the management did find and pay for the Mecure hotel for us.

When me and my partner arrived the member of staff questioned multiple times if we had a booking (felt like they didn’t want us there) when we finally showed booking confirmation he finally agreed to take us to our rooms, the first room didn’t have a locking door then when he showed us the second room on the top floor i was amazed when he said the window was stuck open and I couldn’t close it, there was a sink in the room that was dripping and wouldn’t work but apparently this was okay because there was a “sign” piece of paper saying “out of order” To my amazement when I went back downstairs to question the quality of the rooms his response was “good luck trying to get back the f**king money “ The shared bathroom was disgusting to the point of my partner refused to even wee in the cubicle Personally as contractors that works away 95% of our life this is the worst experience I’ve ever been to
