Clean room with very comfy bed. Booked the executive single and bed feels like a small double so plenty of room for us single business travellers. Restaurant food (evening meal & breakfast) very tasty. Stayed here a few times and staff always friendly. Not had a bad trip.

Some of the restaurant menu prices are i feel a little high but in fairness the quality and taste of the food has always been very good.

Room 210 had a comfortable bed , a lot of hot water and the room was warm . The staff were polite and helpful. The hotel is a local landmark. The Rotary Club meets there and a portrait of the late Queen looks down on the reception hall.

Unfortunately, there is a feral pigeon problem in the inner courtyard of the hotel where quantities of bird guano has accumilated on fire escape ladders, flat roofs and window ledges. Although the area has bird spikes and other deterrents a fresh inspection and cleaning by a licenced pest control company is needed in the interests of hygene, in my opinion. Also, it's best to avoid parking under the trees in the car park as birds roost there overnight.

The house keeper met me earlier than is the norm because of my disability and i was very appreciative and she was lovely to deal with,

the ceiling above me was poor . EVERY flipping thump and bang and there were Tooo, toooo Many of them, caused me great distress. It was advertised as being quiet. A rock festival would have been quieter. I ended up shouting and ranting at the family above me and that was unfair. Developers looking for a bigger profit were not interested in the visitors comfort. and the loors were like noise speakers emphasising every footfall of every running child and heavy footed adult. the balconies were rammed up to each other and no privacy. It was like how many apartments can we cram into this space.

The bathroom was cold. Towel rail didn't work, but this has been reported. There is a metal staircase to the upstairs apartment outside, to the left of the bed. Foot traffic was very noisy first thing in the morning. There is a parking space outside and it would be an added bonus if guests were able to use it.

I gave a 3 because of my issues on this booking but previous visits were very good, nice staff and lovely food.

Having to cancel the day before and both booking.com and the beeches refusing to help with either a refund or a new date, both saying it was the others problem to assist. I phoned and emailed the hotel directly. I lost £130 so not very impressed

The place is close to both train station and the bus station.

The bed mattress is a bit old and one side feels uneven. And the smell of the toilet is not pleasant although the toilet looks clean.

Lovely cottage, but it lacked a few things like heat mats for the wooden table, some utensils like pizza cutter not supplied. Also, for the older generation, a folder on how washing machine /oven works, and recommended places to visit etc . I was told dishwasher tablets would be supplied (which were not), and the washing up liquid was virtually empty. I had to stand it upside down to get the last drops out. Although not stated, there was hand soap in both bathrooms, but when used, it had been watered down so much it wasn't usable. Better to remove than leave it like that. Unfortunately, I found a used and bloodied piece of toilet paper by the side of the bed tables on the floor, yuck!! Would be nice to have a place to hang up the door key, too, when inside the property . Although these are trivial things , it shows you give that little extra care and thought.
